تعرض منزل الأسطورة ميشيل بلاتيني، نجم المنتخب الفرنسي الفائز بكأس العالم 1998 الرئيس السابق للاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم، الواقع بالقرب من مدينة مرسيليا، للسرقة، إذ استيقظ «بلاتيني» مفزوعاً فجر اليوم (الجمعة) عندما سمع ضجيجًا قادمًا من حديقة منزله. ووفقًا لأخبار RTL، رأى «بلاتيني» شخصًا مقنعًا يرتدي ملابس سوداء أمام نافذة منزله وهو يركض إلى الخارج، وبعد التحقق لاحظ بلاتيني أنه تعرض لسرقة مقتنيات شخصية وجوائز و20 ميدالية وكأسا حصل عليها طوال مسيرته الرياضية. ووفقًا للإعلام الفرنسي، يجري حاليًا تقييم الأضرار من قبل الشرطة الفرنسية والاطلاع على كاميرات المراقبة للتعرف على الجاني.
يذكر أن ميشيل بلاتيني تمت تبرئته من تهم الاحتيال في 2022، واتهمت النيابة العامة بلاتر بمنح بلاتيني مليوني فرنك سويسري (2.3 مليون دولار) بشكل غير قانوني. وبحسب ما ذكره بلاتيني، يتعلق المبلغ بمدفوعات مستحقة بموجب اتفاق شفهي خاص بعمل بلاتيني استشارياً في الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم.
