أعلن الاتحاد الإيطالي لكرة القدم سحب ترخيص نادي بريشيا رسمياً، وذلك بعد إفلاسه وفشل مالكه ماسيمو تشيلينو في سداد المديونيات التي وصلت لملايين الدولارات.
وأنهى بريشيا الموسم بفارق نقطة واحدة عن منطقة الهبوط، لكنه عوقب بخصم 4 نقاط بسبب مخالفات مالية أدت إلى هبوط الفريق إلى الدرجة الثالثة.
ومن المرجح أن يضطر بريشيا، الذي تأسس قبل 114 عاماً، إلى تشكيل نادٍ جديد تماماً وإعادة انطلاقته في دوري الدرجة الرابعة الإيطالي.
وكان روبرتو باجيو قد أنهى مسيرته الكروية مع بريشيا، حيث لعب بصفوفه من عام 2000 إلى عام 2004 عندما كان الفريق الشمالي يلعب في دوري الدرجة الأولى الإيطالي.
كما لعب بيب جوارديولا المدير الفني لمانشستر سيتي لفترة وجيزة إلى جانب باجيو في بريشيا خلال عام 2001-2002.
ولعب بريشيا آخر مرة في الدوري الإيطالي في موسم 2019-2020، قبل أن يتدرج في الهبوط.
