ألقت الشرطة البيروفية القبض على تاجر مخدرات مشتبه به في حي لاس فلوريس بمنطقة سان خوان دي لوريغانشو في العاصمة ليما، بعد تنفيذ عملية أمنية استخدمت خلالها أزياء التميمتين الرسميتين لكأس العالم 2026.
وارتدى ضابطان زيي «كلوتش» و«مابل» للتقرب من المشتبه به كارلوس كابريرا (48 عاماً)، المعروف بلقب «بيتشيتشي»، أثناء وجوده في منزله لمتابعة حفل افتتاح البطولة. وبحسب الشرطة، استندت العملية إلى معلومات استخباراتية أفادت بأن كابريرا من مشجعي كرة القدم ويتابع فعاليات كأس العالم.
وأوضح العقيد كارلوس ألكانتارا أن العملية نفذتها وحدة «تيرنا» السرية المتخصصة في مكافحة الجريمة، حيث تمكن عناصرها من الاقتراب من منزل المشتبه به دون إثارة الشكوك قبل مداهمته وإلقاء القبض عليه.
وأسفرت المداهمة عن ضبط 2524 عبوة من معجون الكوكايين و209 غرامات من الماريجوانا، إضافة إلى سلاح ناري وذخيرة. ويخضع كابريرا للتحقيق بتهمة الاتجار بالمخدرات، فيما أشارت الشرطة إلى أن لديه سوابق جنائية في القضية نفسها، وقضى سابقاً فترات سجن على خلفية جرائم مرتبطة بالمخدرات.
The Peruvian police arrested a suspected drug dealer in the Las Flores neighborhood of the San Juan de Lurigancho area in the capital, Lima, after carrying out a security operation that used the official uniforms of the two mascots for the 2026 World Cup.
Two officers wore the "Clutch" and "Maple" costumes to approach the suspect, Carlos Cabrera (48 years old), known by the nickname "Pichichi," while he was at home watching the opening ceremony of the tournament. According to the police, the operation was based on intelligence information indicating that Cabrera is a football fan and follows the World Cup events.
Colonel Carlos Alcántara explained that the operation was carried out by the secret "Terna" unit specialized in combating crime, where its members were able to approach the suspect's house without raising suspicion before raiding it and arresting him.
The raid resulted in the seizure of 2,524 packets of cocaine paste and 209 grams of marijuana, in addition to a firearm and ammunition. Cabrera is under investigation for drug trafficking, while the police indicated that he has a criminal record in the same case and has previously served prison terms for drug-related offenses.
