تفوق فريق تشيلسي الإنجليزي على نظيره فريق بنفيكا البرتغالي بأربعة أهداف مقابل هدف في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما على استاد بنك أمريكا في ثاني لقاءات دور الـ16 لكأس العالم للأندية 2025، وبذلك يتأهل تشيلسي لدور ربع النهائي ويضرب موعداً مع فريق بالميراس البرازيلي فجر يوم الخميس القادم.
شهد اللقاء بداية قوية لفريق تشيلسي وسدد كوكوريا كرة قوية ولكن تصدى لها المدافع أنطونيو سيلفا برأسه من على خط المرمى، وتصدى حارس بنفيكا اناتولي تروبين لتسديدة بالمر، وعاد تروبين للتألق مجدداً ويتصدى لكرة كوكوريا، ومن كرة ثابتة سددها قائد تشيلسي اللاعب ريس جيمس بذكاء لتخادع الحارس تروبين وتسكن الشباك كهدف أول للفريق الإنجليزي (د: 64)، وقبل نهاية اللقاء تحصل بنفيكا على ركلة جزاء تقدم لها الأرجنتيني انخيل دي ماريا وسددها بنجاح كهدف أول وتعادل لبنفيكا (د: 90+5)، ليحتكم الفريقان لأشواط إضافية تمكن من خلالها تشيلسي حسم الأمور بعد حصول لاعب بنفيكا جيانلوكا بريستياني على بطاقة حمراء في الشوط الإضافي الأول، وتمكن البديل كريستوفر نكونكو من إحراز الهدف الثاني لتشيلسي بعد متابعة لكرة ارتدت من دفاع بنفيكا ليسددها نكونكو في المرمى (د: 108)، ومن ثم أضاف زميله بيدرو نيتو الهدف الثالث لفريق تشيلسي (د: 114)، واختتم كيرنان دويسبري مسلسل الأهداف لتشيلسي بإحرازه للهدف الرابع (د: 117)، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز تشيلسي بنتيجة 4/ 1.
وبهذه النتيجة يتأهل تشيلسي لدور الثمانية لمونديال الأندية ويضرب موعداً مع بالميراس البرازيلي وذلك فجر يوم الخميس القادم، فيما غادر فريق بنفيكا البطولة.
