أفادت مصادر «عكاظ» بأن نادي النجمة الصاعد حديثاً لدوري روشن للمحترفين أصبح قريباً من التعاقد مع الهداف التاريخي للدوري عمر السومة، وذلك لتدعيم صفوف الفريق العائد للدوري الممتاز بعد غياب دام لأكثر من عقدين.
وكان عمر السومة قد أنهى للتو تجربة احترافية مع الوداد المغربي، إذ شارك مع الفريق في منافسات كأس العالم للأندية في مباراتين مع الوداد أمام يوفنتوس ثم أمام العين الإماراتي. وأكد عمر السومة في تصريحات صحفية عقب نهاية تجربته مع الوداد المغربي أن عقده مع الوداد كان لمدة شهر فقط لتمثيل الفريق في كأس العالم للأندية وسيعود لدوري روشن للمحترفين.
يذكر أن عمر السومة يملك الرقم القياسي كأكثر من سجل أهدافاً في تاريخ الدوري السعودي للمحترفين برصيد 154 هدفاً في 193 مباراة خاضها في الدوري، متفوقاً على وصيفه عبدالرزاق حمدالله الذي يملك 150 هدفاً.

Sources from "Okaz" reported that Al-Najma Club, newly promoted to the Roshan Professional League, is close to signing the league's all-time top scorer, Omar Al-Soma, in order to strengthen the squad as they return to the Premier League after an absence of more than two decades.
Omar Al-Soma has just concluded a professional stint with Wydad Casablanca, where he participated in the FIFA Club World Cup in two matches with the team, first against Juventus and then against Al Ain from the UAE. Omar Al-Soma confirmed in press statements after his experience with Wydad that his contract with the club was for only one month to represent the team in the FIFA Club World Cup and that he will return to the Roshan Professional League.
