يستعد منتخب إنجلترا ومدربه توماس توخيل لمعارضة قاعدة جديدة يعتزم الفيفا تطبيقها في كأس العالم 2026. وتنص القاعدة على إلزام المنتخبات المتأهلة للأدوار الإقصائية بالانتقال إلى معسكر جديد بالقرب من مكان المباراة التالية، بدلاً من البقاء في قاعدة دائمة طوال البطولة كما كان متبعاً سابقاً.
وبحسب ما ذكر تقرير نشرتهُ «ذا تلجراف» البريطانيّة، فإنّ الاتحاد الإنجليزي وتوخيل غير راضين عن التعديل، ويخططان للضغط من أجل التراجع عنه.
ومن المتوقع أن يعتمد منتخب إنجلترا كانساس كقاعدة رئيسية، نظراً لموقعها المركزي الذي يتيح الوصول لأي ملعب خلال أقل من أربع ساعات.

The England national team and their coach Thomas Tuchel are preparing to oppose a new rule that FIFA intends to implement in the 2026 World Cup. The rule requires qualifying teams for the knockout stages to move to a new camp near the location of their next match, instead of staying at a permanent base throughout the tournament as was previously practiced.
According to a report published by the British "The Telegraph," the English Football Association and Tuchel are unhappy with the amendment and plan to push for its reversal.
It is expected that the England team will adopt Kansas as their main base, due to its central location that allows access to any stadium in less than four hours.
