Munir Nasrawi, the father of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal, broke his silence and responded to repeated accusations of drug use. Nasrawi categorically denied these allegations, confirming that he suffers from epilepsy and takes five pills a day. He said, “I ask for respect; if you don’t know me, don’t talk about me. I sometimes get robbed in the street because people exploit my illness.”

He added, “I don’t drink alcohol and I don’t use drugs... I’m just a father suffering from an old illness and trying to cope with it.” He addressed those who criticize him, saying, “If I gave you one of my daily pills, let’s see how you would be!”

He expressed his frustration with the persistent rumors and insults, pointing out that the illness has caused him many personal problems. This defense comes at a time when his son Lamine Yamal is shining brightly, as he has helped his team Barcelona achieve a domestic treble: (La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Supercopa de España), in addition to reaching the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League. He also succeeded with the Spanish national team in securing the runner-up position in the UEFA Nations League after losing in the final to Portugal on penalties.
