حقق منتخبنا الوطني الأول لكرة القدم فوزاً مهماً على مضيفه منتخب البحرين بهدفين دون مقابل في اللقاء الذي جمعهما على استاد البحرين الوطني ضمن لقاءات الجولة التاسعة للتصفيات الآسيوية المؤهلة لكأس العالم 2026م، فيما انتصرت أستراليا على منتخب اليابان بهدف دون مقابل، وبذات النتيجة تجاوز منتخب إندونيسيا ضيفه الصيني.
وسط حضور جماهيري كبير، تمكن منتخبنا السعودي من التفوق على ضيفه البحرين بهدفين نظيفين في لقاء شهد سيطرة خضراء على مجريات اللقاء واستطاع الأخضر السعودي هز الشباك مبكراً بعد عرضية مميزة من القائد سالم الدوسري ليسددها مصعب الجوير مباشرةً في المرمى البحريني (د: 16)، وتألق الحارس نواف العقيدي في إنقاذ المرمى السعودي في أكثر من كرة لا سيما تسديدة كميل الأسود ومن ثم تسديدة محمد جاسم مرهون التي ارتطمت في القائم، وسدد البديل فينسنت إيمانويل كرة قوية تصدى لها العقيدي، ليرد منتخبنا الوطني بهجمة مثالية بعد تمريرة من علي مجرشي للبديل عبدالرحمن العبود الذي انطلق من منتصف الملعب ليواجه الحارس البحريني إبراهيم لطف الله ويضع العبود الكرة على يسار الحارس لتسكن الشباك كهدف ثان للأخضر السعودي (د: 78)، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز منتخب السعودية بهدفين دون مقابل.
وبهذه النتيجة يحقق منتخبنا الوطني فوزه الـ3 ويصل للنقطة 13 وفي المركز الثالث، ليضمن التأهل للملحق العالمي، وما زالت لديه الفرصة لخطف المقعد المباشر عندما يستضيف منتخب أستراليا في الجولة الأخيرة، فيما فقد منتخب البحرين فرصة امتلاك مقعد في كأس العالم 2026م بعد أن تلقى الخسارة الـ5 وتجمد رصيده عند 6 نقاط وفي المركز الخامس.
وفي أستراليا، تفوق أصحاب الأرض والجمهور منتخب أستراليا على ضيفه المنتخب الياباني الذي شارك بالصف الثاني بهدف دون مقابل، جاء عن طريق الظهير الأيسر عزيز بيهتش (د: 90)، ليصل منتخب أستراليا للانتصار الرابع ويصل للنقطة 16 وفي المركز الثاني، فيما تلقى اليابان الخسارة الأولى في التصفيات بعد أن تأهل رسمياً للمونديال.
وفي إندونيسيا، تأهل المنتخب الإندونيسي للدور الرابع من الملحق العالمي بعد انتصاره على ضيفه الصين بهدف دون مقابل، وجاء هدف اللقاء الوحيد عن طريق أولي روميني من ركلة جزاء (د: 45)، ليصل المنتخب الإندونيسي للفوز الـ3 والنقطة الـ12 وفي المركز الرابع، فيما فقد منتخب الصين فرصة المنافسة على تحقيق مقعد في كأس العالم 2026 بعد أن احتل المركز السادس والأخير برصيد 6 نقاط فقط.

The match ended with Saudi Arabia winning by two goals to none.
