أعلن الاتحاد الدولي لرفع الأثقال تقديم الوسام الأعلى للاتحاد لرئيس اللجنة الأولمبية والبارالمبية السعودية الأمير عبدالعزيز بن تركي بن فيصل بن عبدالعزيز نظير إسهاماته في تطوير وتنمية رياضة رفع الأثقال على المستوى العالمي.
جاء ذلك خلال أعمال المؤتمر الانتخابي للاتحاد الدولي لرفع الأثقال في الرياض، بحضور نائب رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية والبارالمبية السعودية الأمير فهد بن جلوي بن عبدالعزيز بن مساعد، ورئيس الاتحاد الدولي لرفع الأثقال محمد جلود، ومشاركة ممثلي 169 دولة.
وشهدت أعمال المؤتمر تسمية الأمير عبدالعزيز بن تركي بن فيصل بن عبدالعزيز رئيساً فخرياً للاتحاد الدولي لرفع الأثقال؛ تقديراً وعرفاناً لدوره البارز في إنجاح فعاليات الاتحاد، لاسيما تنظيم بطولة العالم للشباب (جدة 2021)، وبطولة العالم للكبار (الرياض 2023) التي تعد أكبر حدث رياضي في تاريخ الاتحاد.
وأعلن الاتحاد منح الوسام الأعلى للأمير فهد بن جلوي بن عبدالعزيز بن مساعد؛ تقديراً لإسهاماته في دعم وتطوير رياضة رفع الأثقال.
وفي سياق أعمال المؤتمر، فاز محمد جلود برئاسة الاتحاد الدولي لرفع الأثقال لفترة ثانية تنتهي في 2029، وانتخب محمد الحربي نائباً لرئيس الاتحاد.
وعلى هامش المؤتمر، التقى الأمير فهد بن جلوي بن عبدالعزيز عدداً من رؤساء اللجان الأولمبية الوطنية المشاركة، من بينهم رؤساء اللجان الأولمبية في المكسيك وألبانيا، إضافة إلى عدد من رؤساء اللجان من مختلف دول العالم، حيث جرى بحث سبل التعاون وتعزيز العلاقات الرياضية الدولية.

The International Weightlifting Federation announced the awarding of its highest medal to the President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, in recognition of his contributions to the development and growth of weightlifting at the global level.
This announcement came during the electoral conference of the International Weightlifting Federation in Riyadh, attended by the Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Prince Fahd bin Jiluwi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaid, the President of the International Weightlifting Federation, Mohamed Jaloud, and representatives from 169 countries.
The conference proceedings included the appointment of Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz as Honorary President of the International Weightlifting Federation, in appreciation of his prominent role in the success of the federation's activities, particularly the organization of the Youth World Championship (Jeddah 2021) and the Senior World Championship (Riyadh 2023), which is considered the largest sporting event in the federation's history.
The federation also announced the awarding of the highest medal to Prince Fahd bin Jiluwi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaid, in recognition of his contributions to supporting and developing the sport of weightlifting.
In the context of the conference, Mohamed Jaloud was re-elected as President of the International Weightlifting Federation for a second term ending in 2029, and Mohamed Alharbi was elected as Vice President of the federation.
On the sidelines of the conference, Prince Fahd bin Jiluwi bin Abdulaziz met with several heads of the participating national Olympic committees, including the heads of the Olympic committees from Mexico and Albania, as well as several committee heads from various countries around the world, where they discussed ways to cooperate and enhance international sports relations.
