As the date approaches for Al-Hilal's participation in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, questions from the blue fans are increasing regarding the team's current situation and its near future, amid delays in finalizing the head coach's position, slow summer signings, and a wave of doubts about institutional support from official sports bodies. Amid discussions of "competitive fairness" and "specific exemptions," media voices are calling for transparency and balance... Al-Hilal is not just a club; it is a representation of the nation.
“Ambiguity” in the coaching file... and delays that raise confusion
Journalist Khalaf Malfi believes that the delay in finalizing the coaching staff is due to the excessive postponement of the decision to dismiss Jesus, which has reflected on the tight timing during a critical period, pointing out that the ambiguity in administrative work is one of the most significant negatives of Fahd bin Nafel's management.
For his part, journalist Issa Al-Hakami confirmed that the current coaches' commitments to their clubs have contributed to the delay in signings, while Fahd Al-Rouqi hinted that the Al-Hilal fan did not expect this ending for a team that has made local and continental history.
Preparation for the World Cup... and fears of “late preparations”
Regarding the chances of preparing the team for the World Cup, Malfi said: “It is essential to sign foreign players in the midfield, defense, and right-back positions,” calling for their inclusion immediately after the season ends. Al-Rouqi expressed his confidence that Al-Hilal is capable of overcoming crises, stating: “The team has become accustomed to creating solutions despite the circumstances.”
Loaning Ronaldo to Al-Hilal is “an inappropriate idea”
Regarding the rumors circulating about the possibility of loaning Cristiano Ronaldo to Al-Hilal during the tournament, Malfi said: “This is an unacceptable interference in the administration's work... the global event is not for honoring.” Meanwhile, Al-Rouqi confirmed that such a proposal does not serve Al-Hilal's interests, and Al-Hakami considered that Ronaldo's participation with his team in the Gulf Championship is “better for his career.”
The three journalists unanimously rejected the idea of loans, demanding support for Al-Hilal with key players as part of a stable project for the new season.
The Public Investment Fund... legitimate questions about “fairness”
Regarding the support provided by the Public Investment Fund, Al-Rouqi considered that competitive fairness is only applied to Al-Hilal, saying: “When support was requested for Al-Hilal with players, its requests were rejected, and then players were later brought to other clubs at doubled prices.”
In the same context, Malfi said: “Transparency in support is lacking, which has harmed the project and exhausted the fans,” while Al-Hakami pointed out that Al-Hilal “has not received sufficient support,” citing the number of foreign players in Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad, compared to the reduced options for Al-Hilal.
The Football Association... and evaluating a “mysterious” relationship
Regarding the Football Association's handling of Al-Hilal's preparations, Malfi believes that the club's management alone is capable of evaluating the relationship, confirming that “the deals are linked to the procedures of the Recruitment Committee and the Sustainability Committee.” As for Al-Hakami, he indicated that the statement closest to Al-Hilal's reality in this context is: “My reference is worried!” referring to the weak coordination and absence of institutional support.
Al-Hilal... a national responsibility and a need for urgent support
The report concludes with the journalists stating that Al-Hilal does not only represent itself in this global event, but represents the entire nation, and that all concerned parties must treat its participation as a “national priority,” requiring fair support, meticulous planning, and complete clarity in front of fans who accept nothing less than gold.
