حسم الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) آلية تحديد المقعد الأخير في كأس العالم للأندية، عقب القرارات الأخيرة الصادرة عن محكمة التحكيم الرياضية، التي أثّرت في توزيع المقاعد المخصصة للقارة الأمريكية.
وبحسب القرار الجديد، ستُقام مباراة تأهيلية فاصلة بين لوس أنجليس (وصيف بطل دوري أبطال منطقة أمريكا الشمالية والوسطى والكاريبي «كونكاكاف»)، وكلوب أمريكا (المتصدر الحالي لتصنيف أندية القارة)، وسيحصل الفائز في هذه المواجهة على بطاقة التأهل الأخيرة للمشاركة في البطولة العالمية، وسينضم إلى المجموعة الرابعة التي تضم فلامينغو البرازيلي، والترجي التونسي، وتشيلسي الإنجليزي.
وفي حال انتهاء الوقت الأصلي للمباراة بالتعادل، سيتم اللجوء إلى شوطين إضافيين مدة كل منهما 15 دقيقة، تفصل بينهما استراحة من خمس دقائق. وإذا استمر التعادل، تُحسم النتيجة عبر ركلات الترجيح.
ومن المقرر أن يخوض المتأهل من هذه المباراة ثلاث مواجهات ضمن مرحلة المجموعات: الأولى أمام فلامينغو على ملعب مرسيدس بنز في أتلانتا يوم 16 يونيو، والثانية في مواجهة الترجي التونسي على ملعب جيوديس بارك في ناشفيل يوم 20 من الشهر ذاته، فيما تقام الجولة الثالثة ضد تشيلسي الإنجليزي على ملعب كامبينغ وورلد في أورلاندو بتاريخ 24 يونيو.

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has finalized the mechanism for determining the last spot in the FIFA Club World Cup, following recent decisions issued by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which affected the allocation of spots designated for the American continent.
According to the new decision, a playoff match will be held between Los Angeles (the runner-up of the CONCACAF Champions League) and Club América (the current leader in the continental club rankings). The winner of this match will secure the last qualification spot to participate in the global tournament and will join Group D, which includes Brazilian Flamengo, Tunisian Esperance, and English Chelsea.
If the match ends in a draw after regular time, two extra halves of 15 minutes each will be played, with a five-minute break in between. If the draw persists, the result will be decided by penalty kicks.
The qualifier from this match is set to play three matches in the group stage: the first against Flamengo at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on June 16, the second against Tunisian Esperance at Geodis Park in Nashville on June 20 of the same month, while the third round will be against English Chelsea at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on June 24.
