The French coach Laurent Blanc played a prominent role in crowning Al-Ittihad with the Saudi Professional League "Roshan" title for the second time in the last three seasons and the fifteenth in its history, after leading his team to a deserved victory over its host Al-Raed with a score of three goals to one in the match held at King Abdullah Sports City in Buraidah during the 32nd round. Al-Ittihad's crowning with the title came after the significant effort exerted by "Blanc" throughout the season,

as "Blanc" is the first French coach to lead the club to the title after Al-Ittihad hired the late Frenchman "Bruno Metsu" in 2006, succeeding Romanian Angel Iordanescu, who was dismissed from his position shortly after his appointment following a loss to Al-Hilal in the golden square at that time. He is considered one of the prominent football figures in France, enjoying a high tactical vision as both a player and a coach, and has succeeded in achieving local and international championships, leaving a clear mark on the clubs and national teams he has worked with.

His achievements as a coach:

- Led Bordeaux to win the French league in the 2008-2009 season.
