Our national Saudi football team has qualified for the semi-finals of the 27th Gulf Cup, after a deserved victory over their Omani counterpart with three goals to none, in the match held at the Al-Inma Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, as part of the second round of the first group of the tournament.
The match witnessed a strong start from the Saudi team; from an organized attack, Saleh Abu Shamat sent a high cross, which was headed into the net by Feras Al-Breikan, announcing the first goal for the team (11th minute). From a corner taken by Saleh Abu Shamat, Hassan Kadsh rose and headed the ball into the Omani net, scoring a second goal for Saudi Arabia (18th minute). Feras Al-Breikan shone again after receiving a ground pass from Sultan Mandash, and he struck the ball powerfully into the net, scoring a third goal for the Green team (34th minute). In the second half, the Green team's attack almost doubled the score had it not been for a lack of luck; a powerful shot from Sultan Mandash went just past the post, followed by another shot from Mohammed Mahrazi that was unsuccessful, ending the match with Saudi Arabia winning three goals to none.
With this result, the Saudi team achieves its second consecutive victory, reaching six points, sitting at the top of the group, and confirming its qualification for the semi-finals, while the Omani team finished in third place with only one point from a draw and a loss.
