تحت رعاية خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود -أيّده الله-، تنطلق في مدينة جدة، يوم الأربعاء 12 ربيع الآخر 1448هـ، الموافق 23 سبتمبر 2026م، منافسات بطولة كأس الخليج العربي لكرة القدم في نسختها السابعة والعشرين «خليجي 27»، التي تستضيفها المملكة حتى السادس من أكتوبر القادم، بمشاركة ثمانية منتخبات تتنافس في 15 مباراة.
وبهذه المناسبة، رفع الأمير عبدالعزيز بن تركي بن فيصل بن عبدالعزيز وزير الرياضة رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية والبارالمبية السعودية، خالص الشكر والامتنان لخادم الحرمين الشريفين، على رعايته الكريمة لهذه المناسبة الرياضية الخليجية الكبيرة.
وقال سموه في تصريح صحفي بهذه المناسبة: «إن رعاية خادم الحرمين الشريفين -أيّده الله- لبطولة كأس الخليج العربي في نسختها السابعة والعشرين، تجسّد ما يحظى به القطاع الرياضي من دعم واهتمام كريمين من قيادتنا الرشيدة -حفظها الله-، وامتدادًا لعنايتها المستمرة بالرياضة والرياضيين، ودعمها لاستضافة المملكة لأبرز الأحداث والمنافسات الرياضية، إلى جانب حرصها على كل ما يعزز أواصر الأخوة والمحبة بين أبناء دول مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية».
وأضاف سموه: «تمثل هذه البطولة مناسبة رياضية عزيزة على أبناء المنطقة، لما تحمله من تاريخ ومكانة خاصة في مسيرة الرياضة الخليجية، وما تجسّده من روابط أخوية راسخة، ويسعدنا في المملكة أن نرحب بأشقائنا مجددًا، في نسخة تكتسب أهمية خاصة لتزامن انطلاقتها مع اليوم الوطني للمملكة، وهي مناسبة غالية نعتز بمشاركة فرحتها مع أشقائنا من دول الخليج، متطلعين إلى بطولة تليق بمكانتها وتاريخها، ومتمنين للمنتخبات المشاركة التوفيق، وللجماهير الخليجية الاستمتاع بمنافسات مميزة في مدينة جدة».
وتقام منافسات البطولة على ملعبي مدينة الملك عبدالله الرياضية ومدينة الأمير عبدالله الفيصل الرياضية، وسط استعدادات تنظيمية وتشغيلية متكاملة من اللجنة المحلية المنظمة لاستقبال المنتخبات والجماهير ووسائل الإعلام، تشمل جاهزية الملاعب والمرافق، وعمليات المباريات، والنقل، والخدمات اللوجستية، إلى جانب مختلف الخدمات المصاحبة للبطولة.
يشار إلى أن بطولة كأس الخليج العربي تقام في مدينة جدة لأول مرة في تاريخ البطولة، فيما ستشهد هذه النسخة مشاركة منتخبات السعودية، والعراق، وعُمان، والكويت، ضمن المجموعة الأولى، فيما تضم المجموعة الثانية منتخبات قطر، والإمارات، والبحرين، واليمن.
Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God support him - the competitions of the 27th edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup, "Gulf 27," will kick off in the city of Jeddah on Wednesday, 12 Rabi' al-Thani 1448 AH, corresponding to September 23, 2026 AD. The Kingdom will host this tournament until October 6, with the participation of eight teams competing in 15 matches.
On this occasion, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for his generous patronage of this significant Gulf sporting event.
His Highness stated in a press statement on this occasion: "The patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques - may God support him - for the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup embodies the support and generous attention that the sports sector receives from our wise leadership - may God protect it - and is a continuation of its ongoing care for sports and athletes, and its support for the Kingdom's hosting of major sports events and competitions, alongside its commitment to everything that strengthens the bonds of brotherhood and love among the people of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries."
He added: "This tournament represents a cherished sporting occasion for the people of the region, due to its historical significance and special status in the journey of Gulf sports, and what it embodies of strong brotherly ties. We are pleased in the Kingdom to welcome our brothers once again, in a version that gains special importance as it coincides with the Kingdom's National Day, a precious occasion that we cherish sharing its joy with our brothers from the Gulf countries, looking forward to a tournament that befits its status and history, and wishing the participating teams success, and for the Gulf audiences to enjoy distinguished competitions in the city of Jeddah."
The tournament will take place at the King Abdullah Sports City and Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City, amid comprehensive organizational and operational preparations by the local organizing committee to welcome the teams, fans, and media, including the readiness of stadiums and facilities, match operations, transportation, logistical services, in addition to various accompanying services for the tournament.
It is noteworthy that the Arabian Gulf Cup is being held in the city of Jeddah for the first time in the tournament's history, while this edition will witness the participation of the teams from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, and Kuwait in Group A, while Group B includes the teams from Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, and Yemen.
