تأهل منتخبنا الوطني السعودي تحت 20 عاماً لنهائيات كأس آسيا للشباب بعد فوزه على قطر المضيفة 1-0 اليوم (الأحد) على استاد عبدالله بن خليفة في الدوحة، ضمن الجولة الثالثة (الأخيرة) من منافسات المجموعة الخامسة في تصفيات كأس آسيا للشباب تحت 20 عاماً 2027 في الصين، وشهدت المباراة الثانية ضمن المجموعة ذاتها تعادل عُمان مع هونغ كونغ الصين 1-1 على استاد حمد بن خليفة.
وحلّق المنتخب السعودي في صدارة ترتيب المجموعة بالعلامة الكاملة 9 نقاط من ثلاث مباريات، مقابل 4 نقاط لعُمان، و3 لقطر، ونقطة لهونغ كونغ الصين، ليحصد الأخضر السعودي بطاقة التأهل المباشر عن المجموعة إلى النهائيات، في حين تنتظر عُمان تحديد أفضل سبعة منتخبات حاصلة على المركز الثاني.
وقد شهد لقاء منتخبنا الوطني ونظيره القطري سيطرة مبكرة لنجوم الأخضر وشنوا عدة هجمات لم يكتب لها النجاح إلى أن تمكن فارس بن سالم من إحراز هدف الفوز في الدقائق الأخيرة من عمر اللقاء بعد أن كسر حاجز التسلل ولعب الكرة في الشباك (د:81)، ليحصد المنتخب السعودي النقاط الثلاث، ويصل للنقطة التاسعة ويتأهل رسمياً لنهائيات كأس آسيا تحت 20 عاماً التي ستقام في الصين.
Our national team, the Saudi U-20 squad, has qualified for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup finals after defeating the host nation, Qatar, 1-0 today (Sunday) at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in Doha, during the third (and final) round of the fifth group in the qualifiers for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup 2027 in China. The second match in the same group saw Oman draw with Hong Kong, China, 1-1 at Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium.
The Saudi team topped the group standings with a perfect score of 9 points from three matches, compared to 4 points for Oman, 3 for Qatar, and 1 for Hong Kong, China, securing the green Saudi team a direct qualification spot from the group to the finals, while Oman awaits the determination of the best seven second-placed teams.
The match between our national team and the Qatari counterpart saw an early dominance by the green stars, who launched several attacks that were unsuccessful until Fares bin Salem scored the winning goal in the final minutes of the match after breaking the offside trap and placing the ball in the net (81st minute), allowing the Saudi team to earn the three points, reaching a total of nine points, and officially qualifying for the U-20 Asian Cup finals to be held in China.
