أعلن مدافع أتلتيكو مدريد ماركوس يورنتي، أمس (الخميس)، اعتزاله اللعب دولياً مع منتخب إسبانيا، بعد أقل من شهرين من تتويجه مع «الماتادور» ببطولة كأس العالم 2026.
مسيرة دولية قصيرة
وكان يورنتي، البالغ من العمر 31 عاماً، قد بدأ مسيرته مع إسبانيا في عام 2021، وتواجد على مقاعد البدلاء في المباراة النهائية لكأس العالم 2026، التي انتهت بفوز إسبانيا على الأرجنتين 1-0، ليكتفي بخوض 27 مباراة دولية.
«قرار شخصي مدروس»
وكتب يورنتي عبر حسابه على موقع «إنستغرام»: «بعد التفكير في الأمر لفترة طويلة، قررت إنهاء مسيرتي مع المنتخب الوطني، أدرك أنني ما زلت شاباً، وربما إذا واصلت القيام بالأمور بشكل جيد، فلا يزال لدي سنوات لأستمر في اللعب بهذا القميص».
وأضاف: «أعلم أن الكثير منكم لن يفهم، وربما لم أكن لأفهمه أنا أيضاً لو كنتُ مكانكم، لكنه قرار شخصي، مدروس بعناية فائقة، وقبل كل شيء، نابع من شعور عميق، بغض النظر عما إذا كنت قد ذهبت إلى كأس العالم أم لا، أو ما إذا كنا قد فزنا أم لا، فقد اتخذت هذا القرار بالفعل».
وتابع: «لا يسعني إلا أن أعرب عن امتناني العميق لجميع الأشخاص الذين قابلتهم خلال هذه السنوات، الذين جعلوا من الممكن لي ولعائلتي أن نعيش لحظات فريدة لا تُنسى».
52 يوماً لا تُنسى
واختتم: «سأعتز بكل ما مررت به، ولكن قبل كل شيء، سأعتز بهذه الأيام الـ52 الماضية، مع مجموعة رائعة قاتلت حتى النهاية لتضع إسبانيا في الصدارة، وقد فعلوا، لقد كان شرفاً لي أن أمثل بلدي وأن أكون جزءاً من هذه القصة، شكراً على كل شيء».
Atletico Madrid defender Marcos Llorente announced yesterday (Thursday) his retirement from international play with the Spanish national team, less than two months after winning the 2026 World Cup with the "Matador."
A Short International Career
Llorente, who is 31 years old, began his career with Spain in 2021 and was on the bench during the final match of the 2026 World Cup, which ended with Spain defeating Argentina 1-0, having played only 27 international matches.
A "Thoughtful Personal Decision"
Llorente wrote on his Instagram account: "After thinking about it for a long time, I have decided to end my career with the national team. I realize that I am still young, and perhaps if I continue to do things well, I still have years to keep playing in this jersey."
He added: "I know that many of you will not understand, and perhaps I would not have understood it either if I were in your place, but it is a personal decision, carefully considered, and above all, stemming from a deep feeling, regardless of whether I went to the World Cup or not, or whether we won or not, I have indeed made this decision."
He continued: "I can only express my deep gratitude to all the people I met during these years, who made it possible for me and my family to live unforgettable unique moments."
52 Unforgettable Days
He concluded: "I will cherish everything I have experienced, but above all, I will cherish these past 52 days, with a wonderful group that fought until the end to put Spain at the forefront, and they did. It has been an honor for me to represent my country and to be part of this story, thank you for everything."
