The Argentine Football Association is facing an unprecedented crisis ahead of the World Cup final, after the players of the Tango team sparked widespread controversy by raising a political banner following their victory over England in the semi-final with a score of 2–1.
The banner, which bore the phrase "The Malvinas Islands are Argentine," has placed the team under scrutiny and could lead to severe penalties from FIFA, which imposes a complete ban on any political messages within stadiums.
The incident began immediately after the final whistle, when players Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso received the banner from the fans and raised it in front of the world's cameras, in a scene that could cost the team dearly before the final match.

However, the more serious concern is the possibility of suspending the involved players, as the regulations stipulate that a player can be suspended for at least one match, and in the most severe cases, the penalty could reach ten matches if the act is considered an affront to the dignity of a country or group due to a political stance.
This scenario raises significant concerns within the Argentine camp, especially as the team prepares for a historic final, and any absence could disrupt the coach's plans and affect the team's readiness.
