توعد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب اليوم (الأربعاء) الإيرانيين بالهزيمة قريباً جداً، موضحاً أن إيران ترغب في عقد اجتماع مع الأمريكيين.
وأفصح ترمب في مقابلة مع شبكة «فوكس نيوز» عن طلب إيران عقد اجتماع مع إدارته قائلاً: «تلقينا اتصالاً بينما كنت في طريقي إلى هنا يفيد بأنهم يريدون الاجتماع»، لافتاً إلى أن إيران ترغب بشدة في التوصل إلى تسوية مع الولايات المتحدة، وأن واشنطن ستقرر ما إذا كانت ستقدم على مثل هذه الخطوة أم لا.
وهدد ترمب بتوسيع الهجمات على البنية التحتية المدنية، مبيناً أنه سيتم استهداف محطات توليد الكهرباء والجسور إذا لم تعد طهران إلى طاولة المفاوضات.
وقال الرئيس الأمريكي، إن الولايات المتحدة ستضرب إيران بقوة شديدة خلال الليالي القادمة، مضيفاً: «في الأسبوع القادم، سيصبح الأمر سيئاً للغاية بالنسبة لهم، سنقوم بتدمير جميع محطات توليد الكهرباء الخاصة بهم، وسندمر جميع جسورهم إذا لم يعودوا إلى الطاولة ويتفاوضوا».
ولم يستبعد الرئيس الأمريكي أن تستهدف الولايات المتحدة الحرس الثوري الإيراني على غرار حملتها ضد تنظيم «داعش».
وحول ما إذا كانت الضربات ستستمر، قال ترمب: «ستستمر حتى أقول كفى».
بدورها، نقلت صحيفة «وول ستريت جورنال» عن مسؤولين أمريكيين قولهم إن ترمب متردد في استخدام قوات برية في هجمات ضد إيران، موضحين أن ترمب يميل نحو توسيع العمليات في إيران بعد أيام من تلقي إيجازات من كبار مساعديه.
وأشار المسؤولون إلى أن الخيارات تشمل تكثيف الغارات وإرسال قوات برية للاستيلاء على جزر إيرانية قرب مضيق هرمز.
وذكر المسؤولون أن ترمب ترأس اجتماعاً أمس (الثلاثاء) لمناقشة إمكانية السيطرة على جزيرة خارك لكنه متردد حتى اللحظة.
في المقابل، أفادت وكالة «تسنيم» الإيرانية بسماع دوي انفجارين في مناطق بمحافظة كنارك جنوب شرقي إيران، مشيرةً إلى أن موقعهما لم يتضح بعد، فيما أفاد مسؤولون محليون بأن دوي الانفجارين جاء من مناطق خارج المدينة.
وذكر المسؤولون أن الوضع داخل كنارك آمن وهادئ.
من جهتها، ذكرت وكالة «مهر» الإيرانية للأنباء بسماع دوي انفجارات في الأحواز وتشابهار بجنوب البلاد.
ونقلت الوكالة عن محافظ هرمزجان قوله إن قذيفة أمريكية سقطت بالقرب من مدينة بندر عباس، في الوقت الذي أعلنت القيادة المركزية الأمريكية بدء شن موجة هجمات جديدة على إيران.
وفي سياق متصل، أعلنت وزارة الداخلية البحرينية إطلاق صفارات الإنذار، داعيةً على حسابها في «إكس» المواطنين والمقيمين للهدوء والتوجه لأقرب مكان آمن ومتابعة الأخبار عبر القنوات الرسمية.
U.S. President Donald Trump warned the Iranians today (Wednesday) of imminent defeat, clarifying that Iran wishes to hold a meeting with the Americans.
Trump revealed in an interview with Fox News that Iran requested a meeting with his administration, saying, "We received a call while I was on my way here indicating that they want to meet," noting that Iran is very eager to reach a settlement with the United States, and that Washington will decide whether to take such a step or not.
Trump threatened to expand attacks on civilian infrastructure, indicating that power plants and bridges would be targeted if Tehran does not return to the negotiating table.
The U.S. President stated that the United States would strike Iran very hard in the coming nights, adding, "Next week, things will get very bad for them; we will destroy all their power plants, and we will destroy all their bridges if they do not come back to the table and negotiate."
Trump did not rule out that the United States might target the Iranian Revolutionary Guard similar to its campaign against ISIS.
Regarding whether the strikes would continue, Trump said, "They will continue until I say enough."
For its part, The Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. officials said Trump is hesitant to use ground forces in attacks against Iran, explaining that Trump is leaning towards expanding operations in Iran after receiving briefings from senior aides.
The officials indicated that options include intensifying airstrikes and sending ground forces to seize Iranian islands near the Strait of Hormuz.
The officials mentioned that Trump chaired a meeting yesterday (Tuesday) to discuss the possibility of taking control of Khark Island, but he is hesitant at this moment.
In contrast, the Iranian news agency Tasnim reported hearing two explosions in areas of Konarak in southeastern Iran, noting that their location is still unclear, while local officials stated that the sounds of the explosions came from areas outside the city.
The officials reported that the situation inside Konarak is safe and calm.
For its part, the Iranian news agency Mehr reported hearing explosions in Ahvaz and Chabahar in the south of the country.
The agency quoted the governor of Hormozgan as saying that an American shell fell near the city of Bandar Abbas, at the same time that the U.S. Central Command announced the start of a new wave of attacks on Iran.
In a related context, the Bahraini Ministry of Interior announced the activation of alarm sirens, urging citizens and residents on its account on X to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place while following the news through official channels.
