علّق الإيطالي كارلو أنشيلوتي، على خروج فريقه من كأس العالم 2026، إثر خسارته من النرويج بهدفين مقابل هدف ضمن مباريات دور ثمن النهائي على ملعب نيويورك نيو جيرسي، مؤكداً حزنه على النتيجة، لكنه شدد على أن الفريق قدم بطولة استثنائية ويستحق ما هو أفضل. وقال المدرب: «أعتقد أننا جميعاً حزينون للغاية، لأنني أرى أن الفريق قد قدم كأس عالم استثنائياً، وأعتقد أيضاً أننا في مباراة اليوم كنا نستحق الفوز.. الخروج من المونديال موجع».
وتابع أنشيلوتي برسالة تفاؤل للجماهير: «عندما تمر بمثل هذه اللحظة، يجب أن تفكر أن الخسارة هي بداية مغامرة جديدة، وموسم جديد. يجب أن نواصل العمل والتحسين، والبحث عن أفكار جديدة. أعتقد أن هذه الخسارة ليست النهاية، بل بداية عهد جديد».
