ومن المقرر أن تُقام المباراة في السادسة مساء الأحد بتوقيت المكسيك على ملعب «أزتيكا» بمدينة مكسيكو، الثالثة فجر الإثنين بتوقيت مكة المكرمة، إلا أن «فيفا» يتجه لإعلان تقديمها 6 ساعات بسبب خطر حدوث عواصف، بحسب ما نقلته وكالة «رويترز».
وكانت مباراة المكسيك، إحدى الدول المستضيفة لمونديال 2026، أمام الإكوادور في وقت سابق من هذا الأسبوع قد تأجلت بسبب الأمطار.

وأنهى منتخب المكسيك انتظاراً دام 40 عاماً لتحقيق انتصار في الأدوار الإقصائية بكأس العالم، بعد تغلبه على الإكوادور 2-0 في دور الـ32.
إنجلترا تتأهل بصعوبة
في المقابل، خطف المنتخب الإنجليزي بطاقة العبور إلى دور الـ16 بعد انتصار صعب على الكونغو الديموقراطية 2-1، إذ سجل هاري كين هدفين لـ«الأسود الثلاثة» في آخر ربع ساعة من المباراة.
