تسبب بيان مزيف تم تداوله عبر منصات التواصل الاجتماعي في حالة انقسام واسع بالشارع الرياضي السعودي، بعد أن زعم تنصيب اللاعب الدولي السابق سامي الجابر رئيساً للاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم. وجاء تداول البيان «المفبرك» عقب استقالة ياسر المسحل من رئاسة اتحاد الكرة، على خلفية خروج المنتخب من دور المجموعات من مونديال 2026، ليتحول فراغ المنصب إلى ساحة مفتوحة للشائعات.
وانقسمت ردود الفعل بين مؤيدين رأوا في الجابر الاسم الأجدر لقيادة المرحلة، ومعارضين استدعوا تجربته السابقة في رئاسة الهلال عام 2018 واعتبروها «فاشلة» وأنه لا يصلح للمنصب الجديد.
من جانبه وجه مجلس إدارة الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم الدعوة الرسمية إلى أعضاء الجمعية العمومية لحضور اجتماع «غير عادي»، لمناقشة عدد من الملفات المهمة، وأوضح اتحاد الكرة في بيانه الذي بثه على منصة «X» أن الاجتماع سيُعقد الأربعاء 8 يوليو 2026 عبر تقنية الاتصال المرئي «عن بعد»، وفق الإجراءات المعتمدة.
وأكد أنه تم إشعار جميع الأعضاء بتاريخ الانعقاد حسب ما تنص عليه المادة 29 من النظام الأساسي للاتحاد.
ويأتي انعقاد الجمعية العمومية غير العادية في ظل مرحلة مفصلية للكرة السعودية، بعد استقالة رئيس الاتحاد ياسر المسحل، وقبل استضافة المملكة كأس العالم 2034، واستعدادات المنتخب للاستحقاقات القارية القادمة.
A fake statement circulated on social media has caused a wide division in the Saudi sports community, after it claimed the appointment of former international player Sami Al-Jaber as the president of the Saudi Football Federation. The circulation of the "fabricated" statement came following the resignation of Yasser Al-Mashel from the presidency of the Football Federation, in light of the national team's exit from the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, turning the vacancy into an open field for rumors.
Reactions were divided between supporters who saw Al-Jaber as the most deserving name to lead the phase, and opponents who recalled his previous experience as president of Al-Hilal in 2018, considering it "failed" and that he is unfit for the new position.
For its part, the Board of Directors of the Saudi Football Federation officially invited members of the General Assembly to attend an "extraordinary" meeting to discuss several important issues. The Football Federation clarified in a statement broadcast on the "X" platform that the meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, via remote video conferencing, in accordance with the approved procedures.
It confirmed that all members have been notified of the meeting date as stipulated in Article 29 of the Federation's bylaws.
The convening of the extraordinary General Assembly comes at a pivotal stage for Saudi football, following the resignation of Federation President Yasser Al-Mashel, and ahead of the Kingdom hosting the 2034 World Cup, as well as the national team's preparations for upcoming continental competitions.
