يبدو أنه ليس كريستيانو رونالدو وحده من كان متحاملاً على كثير من الانتقادات التي طالته الفترة الماضية، فقد وصل الأمر إلى عائلته وأشقائه كذلك، فبعد الهدفين اللذين سجلهما خلال مواجهة البرتغال وأوزبكستان وانتهت لمصلحة البرتغال بخماسية دون مقابل، دافعت إلما أفيرو، شقيقة الأسطورة البرتغالي كريستيانو رونالدو، عن شقيقها بعد تألقه اللافت.
وبعد الهدف الثاني للدون وجهت شقيقته رسالة حادة إلى منتقديه عبر حسابها على منصة «إكس»، وكتبت: «قالوا إنه أصبح عجوزاً ولا فائدة منه، وإنه تحول إلى عبء على الفريق.. أين اختفى الببغاوات الآن؟».
وجاءت رسالة إلما أفيرو لتؤكد الدعم المستمر الذي يحظى به رونالدو من عائلته، في وقت يواصل النجم البرتغالي الرد على المشككين بأدائه داخل المستطيل الأخضر.

وحقق رونالدو رقماً قياسياً آخر، إذ بات ثاني أكبر لاعب سناً يسجل في تاريخ كأس العالم بعمر 41 عاماً و138 يوماً، خلف الكاميروني روجيه ميلا.
