وبهذه النتيجة، تساوى منتخبا الأوروغواي والرأس الأخضر في المركز الثاني برصيد نقطتين لكل منهما، مع أفضلية للأوروغواي بفارق الأهداف، وبفارق نقطتين خلف إسبانيا المتصدرة برصيد أربع نقاط.
The Cape Verde national team drew with their Uruguayan counterparts 2-2 during their match at the "Hard Rock" stadium, in the final round of the second group stage of the 2026 World Cup.
Cape Verde opened the scoring through Kevin Pina in the 21st minute, marking the first goals for his country in their debut at the finals. Uruguay responded with two goals from Maxi Araujo in the 44th minute and Agustin Canobbio in the sixth minute of stoppage time in the first half (45+6), before Helio Varela equalized for Cape Verde in the 61st minute.
With this result, both Uruguay and Cape Verde are tied for second place with two points each, with Uruguay having the advantage on goal difference, and two points behind Spain, who lead with four points.
