حقق مهاجم منتخب البرازيل ماتيوس كونيا قفزة تاريخية مهمة في مسيرته الدولية، بعدما قاد منتخب بلاده لتحقيق انتصاره الأول في بطولة كأس العالم 2026، بفضل ثنائيته الحاسمة في شباك منتخب هايتي.
ولم يمنح هذا الإنجاز منتخب «السيليساو» النقاط الثلاث فقط، بل وضع اللاعب في مكانة تهديفية متقدمة، بعدما تفوق على أسماء بارزة في تاريخ الكرة البرازيلية.
وتكتسب ثنائية كونيا أهمية رقمية كبيرة عند مقارنتها بمسيرة النجمين السابقين ريكاردو كاكا وروبرتو فيرمينو، فرغم التاريخ الحافل لكاكا، المتوج بالكرة الذهبية عام 2007 وبطل العالم 2002، فإن رصيده التهديفي طوال مشاركاته في نسخ كأس العالم الثلاث (2002 و2006 و2010) توقف عند هدف وحيد، سجله في شباك كرواتيا بنسخة 2006.
وعلى الجانب الآخر، لم يتجاوز المهاجم روبرتو فيرمينو حاجز الهدف الواحد أيضاً في نهائيات كأس العالم، بعدما سجل هدفه الوحيد خلال نسخة روسيا 2018 أمام المكسيك ضمن منافسات الدور ثمن النهائي، رغم مشاركته في أربع مباريات كعنصر هجومي بارز بتشكيلة المنتخب آنذاك.
وفي مقابل هذا المعدل التهديفي المحدود لعدد من نجوم الأجيال السابقة، نجح ماتيوس كونيا في تجاوز رصيد كل من كاكا وروبرتو فيرمينو بشكل منفرد، ومعادلة مجموع أهدافهما معاً في المونديال خلال مباراتين فقط، بعدما سجل هدفين دفعة واحدة في ظهوره العالمي الثاني، ليؤكد كفاءته الهجومية العالية وبدايته القوية على الساحة العالمية، ويعزز طموحاته في قيادة خط هجوم البرازيل خلال المحافل الكبرى.

Cunha's double holds great numerical significance when compared to the careers of former stars Ricardo Kaká and Roberto Firmino. Despite Kaká's illustrious history, crowned with the Ballon d'Or in 2007 and a World Cup champion in 2002, his scoring record throughout his participation in three World Cup editions (2002, 2006, and 2010) was limited to just one goal, which he scored against Croatia in the 2006 edition.
On the other hand, striker Roberto Firmino also did not exceed a single goal in World Cup finals, having scored his only goal during the 2018 edition in Russia against Mexico in the Round of 16, despite participating in four matches as a prominent attacking player in the squad at that time.
In contrast to the limited scoring rates of some stars from previous generations, Matheus Cunha has successfully surpassed the tally of both Kaká and Roberto Firmino individually, equaling their combined total of goals in the World Cup in just two matches, after scoring two goals at once in his second global appearance. This confirms his high attacking efficiency and strong start on the world stage, enhancing his ambitions to lead Brazil's attack in major tournaments.
