تستضيف الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، بالشراكة مع كندا والمكسيك، النسخة الأوسع في تاريخ كأس العالم 2026، بمشاركة 48 منتخباً، وإقامة 104 مباريات على مدى 39 يوماً في 16 مدينة بأمريكا الشمالية.
وأكد المدير التنفيذي لفريق عمل البيت الأبيض المعني بكأس العالم 2026 أندرو جولياني أن البطولة مرشحة لأن تكون الحدث الرياضي الأكثر مشاهدة في تاريخ البشرية، متوقعاً أن يتجاوز عدد مشاهدي النهائي ملياري مشاهد، مقارنة بنحو 1.6 مليار مشاهد لنهائي النسخة الماضية.
وتستضيف الولايات المتحدة وحدها 78 مباراة في 11 مدينة، تشمل نيويورك/نيوجيرسي، لوس أنجلوس، ميامي، دالاس، هيوستن، أتلانتا، فيلادلفيا، بوسطن، سان فرانسيسكو، سياتل، وكانساس سيتي، فيما تستضيف المكسيك المباراة الافتتاحية في مكسيكو سيتي، إلى جانب غوادالاخارا ومونتيري، وتشارك كندا بمدينتي تورونتو وفانكوفر.
إجراءات تنظيمية وأمنية مشددة
وكشف جولياني أن مبيعات التذاكر اقتربت من 6 ملايين تذكرة، وهو رقم يقترب من ضعف الرقم القياسي التاريخي السابق الذي تحقق في مونديال 1994، مشيراً إلى أن الإقبال الجماهيري يعكس المكانة العالمية للبطولة واتساع حضورها.
وعلى الصعيد الأمني، أوضح أن كل ملعب سيخضع لإجراءات تنظيمية وأمنية مشددة تضاهي مستوى مباريات «السوبر بول»، تشمل مراحل متعددة للتحقق من التذاكر والتفتيش، مع دعوة الجماهير إلى الحضور قبل انطلاق المباريات بساعة إلى ساعتين، وعدم التوجه إلى الملاعب دون تذاكر.
كما تتضمن الاستعدادات الأمريكية تأمين أكثر من 150 موقعاً ضد تهديدات الطائرات المسيّرة، إلى جانب تخصيص تمويل فيدرالي لدعم المدن المستضيفة، يشمل 625 مليون دولار لصندوق أمن أجهزة إنفاذ القانون، و500 مليون دولار لصندوق مكافحة الطائرات المسيّرة.
تهديدات سيبرانية متوقعة خلال البطولة
وفي ملف التأشيرات، أشار جولياني إلى أن الولايات المتحدة تعمل على تسهيل المسارات القانونية لحضور الجماهير الدولية، من خلال تقليص فترات انتظار المواعيد في عدد من الدول، وإتاحة أولوية لحاملي تذاكر البطولة عبر بطاقة FIFA Pass، مع استمرار تطبيق إجراءات التدقيق الأمني المعتادة.
وحذرت الجهات المنظمة من تهديدات سيبرانية متوقعة خلال البطولة، داعية الجماهير إلى تجنب الروابط المجهولة والتحقق من الرسائل المتعلقة بالتذاكر والسفر، في ظل توقعات بانتشار محاولات الاحتيال والتصيد الإلكتروني.
وتتزامن البطولة مع الذكرى الـ250 لتأسيس الولايات المتحدة، في حدث رياضي عالمي تراهن عليه واشنطن لإبراز جاهزيتها التنظيمية والأمنية، واستقبال ملايين الزوار من مختلف أنحاء العالم.
The United States, in partnership with Canada and Mexico, will host the largest edition in the history of the 2026 World Cup, featuring 48 teams and 104 matches over 39 days across 16 cities in North America.
Andrew Giuliani, the executive director of the White House task force for the 2026 World Cup, confirmed that the tournament is poised to be the most-watched sporting event in human history, expecting the final to attract over two billion viewers, compared to about 1.6 billion viewers for the final of the previous edition.
The United States alone will host 78 matches in 11 cities, including New York/New Jersey, Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Boston, San Francisco, Seattle, and Kansas City, while Mexico will host the opening match in Mexico City, along with Guadalajara and Monterrey, and Canada will participate with the cities of Toronto and Vancouver.
Tight Organizational and Security Measures
Giuliani revealed that ticket sales have approached 6 million, a figure nearly double the previous historical record set in the 1994 World Cup, noting that the public interest reflects the global stature of the tournament and its widespread appeal.
On the security front, he explained that each stadium will be subject to strict organizational and security measures comparable to those of the "Super Bowl," including multiple stages for ticket verification and inspections, urging fans to arrive one to two hours before the matches and not to go to the stadiums without tickets.
The American preparations also include securing more than 150 locations against drone threats, along with allocating federal funding to support the host cities, which includes $625 million for a law enforcement security fund and $500 million for a drone countermeasure fund.
Expected Cyber Threats During the Tournament
Regarding visas, Giuliani noted that the United States is working to facilitate legal pathways for international fans to attend, by reducing wait times for appointments in several countries and prioritizing ticket holders through the FIFA Pass, while continuing to implement standard security screening procedures.
The organizing bodies have warned of expected cyber threats during the tournament, urging fans to avoid unknown links and verify messages related to tickets and travel, amid expectations of an increase in fraud and phishing attempts.
The tournament coincides with the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, in a global sporting event that Washington is betting on to showcase its organizational and security readiness and to welcome millions of visitors from around the world.
