أكّد اللاعب الدولي السابق عبد الملك الخيبري، أن بصمات المدير الفني للمنتخب الوطني المدرب جورجيوس دونيس، بدأت تظهر بشكل واضح على تكتيك «الأخضر» وشخصية اللاعبين في أرضية الملعب. جاء ذلك في تصريح خاص لـ«عكاظ»، عقب المباراة الودية التي جمعت المنتخب السعودي بنظيره السنغالي.
وأوضح الخيبري أن المواجهة اتسمت بالقوة، خصوصاً أن المنتخب السنغالي يُعد بطل أفريقيا ومنتخباً ثقيلاً ومرشحاً للوصول إلى أدوار متقدمة في بطولة كأس العالم 2026، مشيراً إلى أن أغلب لاعبي السنغال ينشطون في الدوريات الأوروبية الكبرى بمستويات عالية، إلى جانب تواجد بعضهم في دوري «روشن».
وأضاف اللاعب الدولي السابق «منتخبنا استطاع تقاسم زمام المباراة خلال مجرياتها، وكان هناك انضباط تكتيكي وجمل فنية واضحة بين اللاعبين، كما أن رغبة اللاعبين وإصرارهم بات أكثر وضوحاً مع اقتراب الأيام المونديالية».
واعتبر الخيبري أن هذه المباراة الودية الأخيرة تمثل «خير إعداد قبل المونديال»، حيث أتاحت للمدرب دونيس رسم تصوره العام عن التشكيل النهائي، والوقوف على جاهزية جميع اللاعبين، سواء العائدين من الإصابة أو الذين هم تحت الملاحظة.
وفي ختام تصريحه، وجّه الخيبري الشكر والتقدير للقيادة الرياضية على حرصها ومتابعتها المستمرة لتطوير المنتخبات السعودية، وخصّ بالشكر وزير الرياضة، ورئيس الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم ياسر المسحل، وأعضاء الاتحاد، على جهودهم لظهور المنتخب بالشكل المشرف في المونديال، متمنياً للتوليفة الإدارية والفنية الجديدة بقيادة المدرب «دونيس» والكابتن فهد المفرج كل التوفيق في تقديم مشاركة استثنائية.
Former international player Abdul Malik Al-Khaibari confirmed that the fingerprints of the national team's coach, Georgios Donis, have started to clearly show in the tactics of the "Green" team and the players' character on the field. This came in a special statement to "Okaz" following the friendly match between the Saudi national team and its Senegalese counterpart.
Al-Khaibari explained that the match was characterized by intensity, especially since the Senegalese team is the African champion and a strong contender likely to reach advanced stages in the 2026 World Cup, noting that most of the Senegalese players are active in major European leagues at high levels, in addition to some playing in the "Roshen" league.
The former international player added, "Our national team managed to share control of the match during its course, and there was tactical discipline and clear technical plays among the players, as the players' desire and determination have become more evident as the World Cup days approach."
Al-Khaibari considered that this last friendly match represents "good preparation before the World Cup," as it allowed coach Donis to outline his overall vision for the final lineup and assess the readiness of all players, whether returning from injury or those under observation.
