احتجزت سلطات الهجرة الأمريكية في مطار شيكاغو المهاجم العراقي أيمن حسين، بعد وصول منتخب «أسود الرافدين» إلى الولايات المتحدة، استعداداً للمشاركة في كأس العالم.
7 ساعات تحت التحقيق
وبحسب صحيفة «آس» الإسبانية، فإن أيمن حسين لم يُفرج عنه إلا بعد سبع ساعات من الاستجواب والتحقيق في المطار، حيث يبدو أن هناك خطأً ما حدث بينه وبين مواطن عراقي آخر، وفي الوقت ذاته، كانت السلطات العراقية على اتصال دائم به في محاولة لتخفيف محنته.
معاناة شخصية مع الإرهاب
وأضافت الصحيفة أن أيمن حسين، البالغ من العمر 30 عاماً، عانى ويلات الإرهاب على الصعيد الشخصي؛ فقد قُتل والده، الذي كان يعمل جندياً، على يد تنظيم القاعدة عام 2008، وبعد ست سنوات اختطف تنظيم داعش شقيقه، الذي لا يزال مصيره مجهولاً حتى اليوم.
هدف تاريخي قاد العراق إلى المونديال
وكان أيمن حسين قد سجل هدفاً حاسماً أهّل منتخب بلاده إلى كأس العالم، بعد غياب دام 40 عاماً منذ آخر مشاركة للعراق في مونديال المكسيك عام 1986.

ويقع المنتخب العراقي في المجموعة التاسعة ببطولة كأس العالم 2026، إلى جانب منتخبات فرنسا والسنغال والنرويج.
وتستضيف الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وكندا والمكسيك منافسات كأس العالم 2026 خلال الفترة من 11 يونيو إلى 19 يوليو، بمشاركة 48 منتخباً للمرة الأولى في تاريخ البطولة.

According to the Spanish newspaper "AS," Ayman Hussein was not released until after seven hours of questioning and investigation at the airport, as it seems there was some misunderstanding between him and another Iraqi citizen. At the same time, Iraqi authorities were in constant contact with him in an attempt to alleviate his ordeal.
Personal Suffering with Terrorism
The newspaper added that Ayman Hussein, 30 years old, has personally suffered the horrors of terrorism; his father, who worked as a soldier, was killed by Al-Qaeda in 2008, and six years later, ISIS kidnapped his brother, whose fate remains unknown to this day.
A Historic Goal Led Iraq to the World Cup
Ayman Hussein scored a decisive goal that qualified his national team for the World Cup, after a 40-year absence since Iraq's last participation in the Mexico World Cup in 1986.

The Iraqi team is placed in Group 9 of the 2026 World Cup, alongside the teams of France, Senegal, and Norway.
The United States, Canada, and Mexico will host the 2026 World Cup from June 11 to July 19, with 48 teams participating for the first time in the tournament's history.
