حقق المنتخب السعودي فوزاً مستحقاً على منتخب بورتوريكو بثلاثة أهداف دون مقابل، فجر اليوم (السبت)، في اللقاء الودي الذي احتضنته مدينة أوستن الأمريكية ضمن تحضيرات «الأخضر» للاستحقاقات المقبلة، في مباراة استثنائية توقفت لأكثر من ساعتين بسبب العواصف الرعدية والتقلبات الجوية.

عاصفة توقف المباراة
شهدت المواجهة توقفاً اضطرارياً بعد مرور 22 دقيقة فقط على انطلاقتها، إثر هبوب عواصف رعدية وصواعق في محيط ملعب «كيو تو» بمدينة أوستن، ما دفع حكم اللقاء إلى تطبيق بروتوكول الأحوال الجوية المعتمد من الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) واللجنة المنظمة لكأس العالم.
وغادر اللاعبون أرضية الملعب إلى غرف الملابس، فيما تم إخلاء المدرجات حفاظاً على سلامة الجماهير. وبعد مرور 30 دقيقة من التوقف، تجددت العواصف والأمطار الغزيرة، ما أدى إلى تمديد فترة التوقف لأكثر من ساعتين قبل السماح باستئناف المباراة، ومنح اللاعبين 15 دقيقة إضافية للإحماء قبل العودة للمنافسة.

دخل المدرب اليوناني جورجيوس دونيس المباراة بتشكيلة قادها محمد كنو مرتدياً شارة القيادة، فيما تولى عبدالله الحمدان قيادة الهجوم.
وضمت القائمة الأساسية: أحمد الكسار في حراسة المرمى، وأمامه سعود عبدالحميد، علي لاجامي، جهاد ذكري، حسن كادش، وفي الوسط ناصر الدوسري، زياد الجهني، محمد كنو، سلطان مندش، خالد الغنام، بينما تواجد عبدالله الحمدان في المقدمة.
واعتمد الجهاز الفني على مزيج من أصحاب الخبرة والعناصر الشابة بهدف الوقوف على جاهزية أكبر عدد من اللاعبين قبل الاستحقاقات الرسمية المقبلة.
مندش يفتتح التسجيل
وقبل نهاية الشوط الأول، نجح سلطان مندش في خطف الكرة من مدافعي بورتوريكو والانفراد بالمرمى، ليسجل الهدف السعودي الأول في الوقت بدل الضائع، مكرراً سيناريو هدفه في اللقاء الودي السابق أمام الإكوادور، لينتهي الشوط الأول بتقدم الأخضر بهدف دون رد.
الحمدان يعزز وسالم يختتم
مع بداية الشوط الثاني، أجرى دونيس أولى تبديلاته بدخول أيمن يحيى بدلاً من علي لاجامي، قبل أن ينجح عبدالله الحمدان في الدقيقة 51 في استغلال خطأ دفاعي، ويضع الكرة من فوق الحارس بطريقة مميزة مسجلاً الهدف الثاني.
وأجرى الجهاز الفني سلسلة تغييرات واسعة في الدقيقة 65، بدخول سالم الدوسري وصالح الشهري وعبدالإله العمري ومصعب الجوير ومتعب الحربي، إضافة إلى مشاركة علاء آل حجي ومحمد أبو الشامات وعلي مجرشي وعبدالله الخيبري وعبدالقدوس عطية.
ومنحت التبديلات الأخضر أفضلية هجومية واضحة، إذ فرض المنتخب السعودي سيطرته على مجريات اللعب وكثف ضغطه على مرمى بورتوريكو، خصوصاً مع تحركات سالم الدوسري وصالح الشهري ومصعب الجوير.
وفي الدقيقة 87، ترجم سالم الدوسري أفضليته بهدف ثالث رائع، بعدما شق طريقه وسط دفاعات المنافس قبل أن يسدد كرة متقنة استقرت في الشباك.

The match was exceptional, having been halted for more than two hours due to thunderstorms and weather fluctuations.

Storm Halts the Match
The match experienced an emergency stoppage just 22 minutes after it started, due to thunderstorms and lightning in the vicinity of the "Q2" stadium in Austin. This prompted the referee to implement the weather protocol established by FIFA and the organizing committee for the World Cup.
The players left the field to the locker rooms, while the stands were evacuated to ensure the safety of the spectators. After 30 minutes of stoppage, the storms and heavy rain resumed, leading to an extension of the stoppage for more than two hours before the match was allowed to resume, with players given an additional 15 minutes to warm up before returning to competition.

Donis Deploys a Mix of Experience and Youth
The Greek coach Georgios Donis entered the match with a lineup led by Mohammed Kanno wearing the captain's armband, while Abdullah Al-Hamdan led the attack.
The starting lineup included: Ahmed Al-Qassar in goal, in front of him were Saud Abdulhamid, Ali Lajami, Jihad Dhikri, Hassan Kaddash, and in midfield were Nasser Al-Dosari, Ziyad Al-Jahani, Mohammed Kanno, Sultan Mandash, and Khalid Al-Ghanam, while Abdullah Al-Hamdan was positioned at the front.

Just before the end of the first half, Sultan Mandash managed to steal the ball from the Puerto Rican defenders and break away towards the goal, scoring the first Saudi goal in stoppage time, repeating the scenario of his goal in the previous friendly match against Ecuador, ending the first half with the Green leading by one goal to none.
Al-Hamdan Doubles the Lead and Salem Concludes
At the start of the second half, Donis made his first substitution, bringing in Ayman Yahya for Ali Lajami, before Abdullah Al-Hamdan took advantage of a defensive error in the 51st minute, lifting the ball over the goalkeeper in a remarkable manner to score the second goal.
The coaching staff made a series of extensive substitutions in the 65th minute, introducing Salem Al-Dosari, Saleh Al-Shehri, Abdulilah Al-Amri, Musab Al-Juwair, and Muteb Al-Harbi, in addition to the participation of Alaa Al-Hajji, Mohammed Abu Al-Shamat, Ali Majrashi, Abdullah Al-Khaibari, and Abdulquddus Atiyah.
The substitutions gave the Green a clear attacking advantage, as the Saudi team imposed its control over the match and intensified its pressure on the Puerto Rican goal, especially with the movements of Salem Al-Dosari, Saleh Al-Shehri, and Musab Al-Juwair.
In the 87th minute, Salem Al-Dosari translated his advantage into a stunning third goal, as he carved his way through the opponent's defenses before executing a precise shot that settled into the net.
