حجز المنتخب اليمني مقعده في بطولة كأس آسيا التي ستقام في السعودية، بعد فوزه على نظيره اللبناني بنتيجة 0-2 في اللقاء الذي جمعهما على استاد حمد بالعاصمة القطرية الدوحة، ضمن التصفيات المؤهلة إلى كأس آسيا، إذ كان من المقرر إقامة المباراة في العاصمة اللبنانية بيروت، إلا أنها أُقيمت على أرض محايدة في قطر، بتنظيم مشترك بين اللجنة المحلية المنظمة لأحداث كرة القدم والاتحاد اللبناني لكرة القدم.
وشهد استاد حمد الكبير حضورًا جماهيريًا من مختلف أنحاء قطر والمنطقة، لمتابعة تأهل المنتخب اليمني إلى النهائيات، لينضم إلى منتخبات كوريا الجنوبية والإمارات العربية المتحدة وفيتنام ضمن المجموعة الخامسة في كأس آسيا السعودية 2027.
ويمثل هذا الإنجاز عودة المنتخب اليمني إلى نهائيات كأس آسيا بعد 8 أعوام من مشاركته التاريخية الأولى في نسخة عام 2019.
ومن المقرر أن تستضيف المملكة العربية السعودية النسخة التاسعة عشرة من كأس آسيا خلال الفترة من 7 يناير حتى 5 فبراير 2027.
وتأتي مباراة منتخبي لبنان واليمن ضمن سلسلة من المباريات الدولية البارزة التي تستضيفها قطر.
The Yemeni national team secured its place in the AFC Asian Cup to be held in Saudi Arabia, after defeating its Lebanese counterpart with a score of 0-2 in the match held at Hamad Stadium in the Qatari capital, Doha, as part of the qualifiers for the Asian Cup. The match was originally scheduled to take place in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, but it was held on neutral ground in Qatar, organized jointly by the local organizing committee for football events and the Lebanese Football Association.
Hamad Stadium witnessed a large turnout from various parts of Qatar and the region to watch the Yemeni national team's qualification for the finals, joining the teams of South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam in Group E of the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027.
This achievement marks the return of the Yemeni national team to the Asian Cup finals after 8 years since its historic first participation in the 2019 edition.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is set to host the 19th edition of the AFC Asian Cup from January 7 to February 5, 2027.
The match between the Lebanon and Yemen national teams is part of a series of prominent international matches hosted by Qatar.
