أكد رئيس نادي مانشستر سيتي الإنجليزي خلدون المبارك أن المدرب الإسباني بيب غوارديولا لوّح مراراً وتكراراً بالرحيل عن «السماوي» على مدار السنوات الماضية، قبل أن يصبح القرار نهائياً.
وكان بيب غوارديولا قد غادر مانشستر سيتي عقب نهاية موسم 2025-2026، بعد مسيرة ناجحة قاد خلالها الفريق إلى تحقيق 20 لقباً خلال 10 سنوات.
غوارديولا استقال 100 مرة!
وقال المبارك لموقع ناديه: «من الطبيعي، على مدار السنوات العشر الماضية، أن نمر بالكثير من الفترات الناجحة وبعض الإخفاقات، وفي أوقات الإخفاق استقال غوارديولا 100 مرة».
قصة «الراعي الكذاب»
وأضاف رئيس السيتي: «هناك القصة التي يعرفها الجميع، قصة «الراعي الكذاب»، وفي حالة غوارديولا، عندما يقول إنه سينسحب، فهذا لا يعني أنه سينسحب فعلياً، لا تأخذ الأمر على محمل الجد، بل يتعين عليك احتواؤه».
تفاهم بين الرئيس والمدرب
وتابع: «كان بيني وبين المدرب تفاهم واضح للغاية دائماً، واستناداً إلى تلك القصة، كلما أشار إلى الاستقالة، كنت أقنعه دائماً بالعدول عنها، حتى يحين الوقت الذي أعلم فيه أن هذه هي اللحظة الحقيقية التي يقرر فيها بيب فعلياً أن الوقت قد حان».
لحظة الرحيل الحقيقية
وأردف: «كانت هناك لحظات لم تكن فيها الرغبة حقيقية، وكان يحتاج بالفعل إلى شخص يعيده إلى الطريق، وكان من المؤكد أن تأتي لحظة واحدة تكون فيها الرغبة حقيقية».
وأوضح المبارك أنه، إلى جانب كونه صديقاً مقرباً لغوارديولا، كان بمثابة «طبيب نفسي» للمدرب الإسباني، إذ كان ينتشله من حافة الانهيار في الأوقات العصيبة.

Al Mubarak said to his club's website: "It is natural, over the past ten years, for us to go through many successful periods and some failures, and during times of failure, Guardiola resigned 100 times."

The City president added: "There is the story that everyone knows, the story of the 'lying shepherd,' and in Guardiola's case, when he says he will withdraw, it doesn't mean he will actually withdraw; you shouldn't take it seriously, but rather you need to contain it."

He continued: "There has always been a very clear understanding between me and the coach, and based on that story, whenever he hinted at resignation, I would always convince him to reconsider, until the time comes when I know this is the real moment when Pep actually decides that the time has come."

He added: "There were moments when the desire was not genuine, and he really needed someone to bring him back on track, and it was certain that there would come a moment when the desire would be real."
Al Mubarak explained that, in addition to being a close friend of Guardiola, he acted as a "psychologist" for the Spanish coach, as he would pull him back from the brink during tough times.
