أبدى مدرب منتخب إسبانيا لويس دي لا فوينتي ثقته الكبيرة في قدرة منتخب بلاده على تقديم بطولة قوية في كأس العالم 2026، مؤكداً أن الفريق الحالي يتمتع بدرجة أعلى من النضج والخبرة مقارنة بالنسخة التي شاركت في مونديال 2022.
وخلال مقابلة أجراها صباح اليوم مع برنامج «El Larguero» عبر إذاعة «Cadena SER» الإسبانية، شدد دي لا فوينتي على جاهزية عدد من أبرز نجوم المنتخب قبل انطلاق البطولة، وفي مقدمتهم لامين يامال ونيكو ويليامز وميكيل ميرينو، مشيراً إلى أن جميع اللاعبين سيكونون على أهبة الاستعداد لخوض المواجهة الافتتاحية أمام منتخب الرأس الأخضر.
وأكد المدرب الإسباني أن الجيل الحالي يواصل التطور بصورة لافتة، موضحاً أن مساهمة لامين يامال ونيكو ويليامز وميكيل أويارزابال في كأس العالم ستكون أكبر مما قدموه خلال بطولة أمم أوروبا 2024، في ظل الخبرات التي اكتسبوها خلال الفترة الماضية.
كما أشار دي لا فوينتي إلى أن المنتخب يمتلك عناصر قيادية مؤثرة داخل غرفة الملابس، لافتاً إلى أن رودري وأويارزابال والحارس أوناي سيمون يمثلون نماذج حقيقية للقيادة ولديهم تأثير إيجابي كبير على بقية اللاعبين.
