سطّر نادي الدرعية إنجازاً تاريخياً في الكرة السعودية، بعدما نجح في التأهل إلى دوري روشن السعودي للمحترفين لأول مرة في تاريخه، عقب انتصاره المثير على العلا بنتيجة 2-1، في نهائي ملحق الصعود «البلاي أوف» الذي جمع الفريقين اليوم (السبت) على ملعب «الأول بارك» بالرياض.
وشهدت المواجهة إثارة كبيرة منذ دقائقها الأولى، في لقاء دخل فيه الفريقان بطموح تحقيق الصعود التاريخي إلى دوري الأضواء، وتمكن العلا من افتتاح التسجيل عن طريق كريستيان جوانكا في الدقيقة 29، لينهي الشوط الأول متقدماً بهدف دون رد.
وفي الشوط الثاني عاد الدرعية إلى أجواء اللقاء بعدما سجل هدف التعادل عند الدقيقة 65، في لقطة بدأت بركلة جزاء تصدى لها الحارس محمد العويس، قبل أن ترتطم الكرة بزميله علي الحسين وتسكن الشباك.
واستمرت الإثارة بعدما أكمل الدرعية المباراة بـ10 لاعبين عقب طرد سلطان الفرحان بالبطاقة الحمراء المباشرة عند الدقيقة 74، إلا أن ذلك لم يمنع الفريق من مواصلة القتال حتى الأشواط الإضافية.
ومع بداية الشوط الإضافي الأول، نجح جايتان لابورد في تسجيل هدف الانتصار عند الدقيقة 94، ليمنح «طيور حوران» أغلى أهداف الموسم، وسط محاولات متأخرة من العلا للعودة في النتيجة، لكن دفاع الدرعية حافظ على تقدمه حتى صافرة النهاية.
وبهذا الفوز، أكمل الدرعية عقد الأندية الصاعدة إلى دوري روشن السعودي للمحترفين برفقة أبها والفيصلي، بعد موسم استثنائي قدم خلاله مستويات قوية أكد من خلالها أحقيته بالصعود إلى دوري الكبار لأول مرة في تاريخه.
The Diriyah Club has achieved a historic accomplishment in Saudi football, as it successfully qualified for the Saudi Pro League for the first time in its history, following an exciting victory over Al-Ula with a score of 2-1 in the promotion playoff final that brought the two teams together today (Saturday) at the "First Park" stadium in Riyadh.
The match witnessed great excitement from the very first minutes, as both teams entered with the ambition of achieving historic promotion to the top league. Al-Ula managed to open the scoring through Cristian Guanca in the 29th minute, ending the first half with a lead of one goal to none.
In the second half, Diriyah returned to the match atmosphere after scoring the equalizer in the 65th minute, in a moment that began with a penalty saved by goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais, before the ball deflected off his teammate Ali Al-Hussein and found the net.
The excitement continued as Diriyah completed the match with 10 players after Sultan Al-Farhan was sent off with a direct red card in the 74th minute, but that did not prevent the team from continuing to fight until extra time.
With the start of the first extra half, Gaitán Laborde succeeded in scoring the winning goal in the 94th minute, giving the "Horan Birds" the most precious goal of the season, amid late attempts from Al-Ula to return to the scoreline, but Diriyah's defense maintained its lead until the final whistle.
With this victory, Diriyah completed the list of clubs promoted to the Saudi Pro League alongside Abha and Al-Faisaly, after an exceptional season during which it showcased strong performances that confirmed its right to ascend to the top league for the first time in its history.
