منح نادي مانشستر سيتي مدربه الإسباني بيب غوارديولا 3 تكريمات استثنائية، عقب الإعلان الرسمي عن رحيله عن القيادة الفنية للفريق بنهاية الموسم الحالي، بعد مسيرة حافلة امتدت لعقد كامل داخل ملعب الاتحاد.
وقرر غوارديولا تفعيل بند في عقده يسمح له بالرحيل قبل نهاية مدته بعام واحد، ليُسدل الستار على واحدة من أنجح الفترات التدريبية في تاريخ الكرة الإنجليزية الحديثة. ومنذ توليه تدريب مانشستر سيتي عام 2016، قاد المدرب الإسباني الفريق لتحقيق إنجازات تاريخية، أبرزها التتويج بـ6 ألقاب في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، و3 ألقاب في كأس الاتحاد الإنجليزي، إضافة إلى 5 ألقاب في كأس الرابطة، فضلًا عن قيادة النادي لتحقيق لقب دوري أبطال أوروبا للمرة الأولى في تاريخه. وتقديرًا لما قدّمه خلال السنوات الماضية، قررت إدارة مانشستر سيتي تكريم غوارديولا بـ3 هدايا رمزية تحمل قيمة معنوية كبيرة:
أولًا: تعيينه سفيرًا عالميًا للنادي
أعلن مانشستر سيتي تعيين بيب غوارديولا سفيرًا عالميًا لمجموعة سيتي لكرة القدم، ليستمر ارتباطه بالنادي حتى بعد مغادرته منصب المدير الفني. وسيتولى غوارديولا تقديم الاستشارات الفنية للأندية التابعة للمجموعة، إلى جانب الإشراف على عدد من المشاريع المستقبلية.
ثانيًا: إطلاق اسمه على أحد مدرجات ملعب الاتحاد
كشف النادي تغيير اسم المدرج الشمالي الجديد في ملعب الاتحاد ليحمل اسم «مدرج بيب غوارديولا»، تكريمًا لمسيرته وإنجازاته الكبيرة مع الفريق. ويأتي ذلك ضمن مشروع تطوير ضخم يضم مرافق ترفيهية وفندقًا ومتحفًا ومتاجر خاصة بالجماهير.
ثالثًا: إنشاء تمثال دائم لمدرب مانشستر سيتي
إقامة تمثال دائم لغوارديولا خارج ملعب الاتحاد، حيث سيتم وضعه عند مدخل المدرج الذي سيحمل اسمه، تخليدًا لمسيرته الاستثنائية ودوره التاريخي في صناعة أمجاد النادي.

First: Appointing him as a Global Ambassador for the Club
Manchester City announced the appointment of Pep Guardiola as a Global Ambassador for the City Football Group, allowing him to maintain his connection with the club even after leaving the managerial position. Guardiola will provide technical consultations to the group’s affiliated clubs, along with overseeing several future projects.
Second: Naming one of the stands at the Etihad Stadium after him
The club revealed the renaming of the new north stand at the Etihad Stadium to "Pep Guardiola Stand," in honor of his career and significant achievements with the team. This is part of a massive development project that includes entertainment facilities, a hotel, a museum, and fan shops.
Third: Creating a permanent statue of the Manchester City coach
A permanent statue of Guardiola will be erected outside the Etihad Stadium, to be placed at the entrance of the stand that will bear his name, commemorating his exceptional career and historical role in creating the club's glories.
