خسر نادي ليستر سيتي استئنافه ضد عقوبة خصم ستّ نقاط من رصيده في دوري الدرجة الأولى الإنجليزي «تشامبيون شيب».

وأوضح النادي، في بيان عبر موقعه الرسمي، أنه خسر الاستئناف المتعلق بعقوبة خصم النقاط، التي ترتبط بمخالفات قواعد الربحية والاستدامة خلال فترة السنوات الثلاث حتى يونيو 2024.
وأضاف البيان: «بعد تأييد العقوبة، ومع بقاء خمس مباريات على نهاية الموسم، يركز الجميع في النادي بشكل كامل على المباريات الأخيرة في بطولة الدوري».
وتابع: «ندرك أن هذه الفترة كانت مليئة بالتحديات، ونشكر جماهيرنا على دعمهم المتواصل للفريق. تكمن مسؤوليتنا الآن في خوض المباريات المتبقية بالتركيز والجدية اللازمين في ظل الظروف الراهنة».
شبح الهبوط يهدد «الثعالب»
ويواجه ليستر شبح الهبوط إلى دوري الدرجة الثانية، إذ يحتل الفريق المركز الـ22 في جدول ترتيب «التشامبيون شيب» برصيد 41 نقطة، متأخراً بنقطة واحدة فقط عن منطقة الأمان.

Club Statement
The club explained in a statement on its official website that it lost the appeal related to the points deduction, which is linked to violations of profitability and sustainability rules during the three-year period leading up to June 2024.
The statement added: "After the penalty was upheld, and with five matches remaining in the season, everyone at the club is fully focused on the final matches of the league."
It continued: "We recognize that this period has been filled with challenges, and we thank our fans for their continued support of the team. Our responsibility now is to approach the remaining matches with the necessary focus and seriousness given the current circumstances."
The threat of relegation looms over the "Foxes"
Leicester faces the threat of relegation to the second division, as the team currently sits in 22nd place in the Championship table with 41 points, just one point behind the safety zone.
