كشف المدير العام لرابطة فنادق مكسيكو سيتي «ألبرتو ألباران ليفا» أن الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم ألغى نحو 800 غرفة من أصل نحو 2000 كانت محجوزة مسبقا في عدد من الفنادق، أي ما يعادل 40% من الحجوزات، وذلك قبل أقل من 100 يوم على انطلاق المنافسات في يونيو القادم.
وأشار «ألباران»، في التقرير الذي بثه موقع الـ«RT» إلى أن هذه الإلغاءات تفوق عدد الحجوزات الجديدة التي تم تسجيلها حتى الآن، رغم اقتراب موعد انطلاق البطولة، مما دفع القطاع الفندقي إلى إعادة النظر في إستراتيجيات التسويق والمبيعات لجذب الزوار واستيعاب الغرف المتاحة.
ويوجد في مكسيكو سيتي أكثر من 63 ألف غرفة منتشرة في نحو 800 فندق، إلا أن نسبة الإشغال الحالية تبقى منخفضة مقارنة بتوقعات موسم كأس العالم، مما يعكس تحديات أمام القطاع السياحي قبل انطلاق الحدث الكبير.
The General Director of the Mexico City Hotels Association, "Alberto Albaran Leiva," revealed that the International Football Federation has canceled about 800 rooms out of approximately 2000 that were previously reserved in several hotels, which is equivalent to 40% of the bookings, less than 100 days before the competitions kick off in June.
Albaran noted, in a report broadcast by the "RT" website, that these cancellations exceed the number of new bookings recorded so far, despite the approaching date of the tournament, prompting the hotel sector to reconsider its marketing and sales strategies to attract visitors and accommodate the available rooms.
Mexico City has more than 63,000 rooms spread across about 800 hotels, yet the current occupancy rate remains low compared to expectations for the World Cup season, reflecting challenges for the tourism sector ahead of the major event.
