يبحث نادي الدحيل القطري عن خطف بطاقة التأهل عندما يلتقي خارج ملعبه مع الشرطة العراقي يوم غد (الإثنين)، على استاد الزوراء في بغداد، ضمن الجولة الثامنة والأخيرة من منافسات منطقة الغرب في دوري أبطال آسيا للنخبة 2025-2026.
وما زال الدحيل في سباق التأهل للأدوار الإقصائية، في حين تبددت آمال الشرطة في التأهل بعد تعادله 1-1 مع ناساف، إلا أن الفريق العراقي سيسعى لإنهاء مشواره بانتصار، بعدما اكتفى بتعادلين فقط في مبارياته السبع السابقة. ويُعدّ ضعف المنظومة الدفاعية السبب الأبرز لمعاناة الشرطة قارياً، إذ استقبلت شباكه 10 أهداف في ثلاث مباريات خاضها على أرضه هذا الموسم، وهو الرقم الأعلى بين جميع الفرق.
من جهته، يأمل الدحيل في استثمار هذه المعطيات، بعدما قاتل بقوة في الجولة الماضية ونجح في العودة بالتعادل 1-1 مع الشارقة، ليبقي على حظوظه في المنافسة.
لكن الفريق القطري لم يحقق سوى انتصار واحد في آخر 11 مباراة خارج أرضه في البطولة القارية، كما استقبل هدفين على الأقل في كل من خسائره الثلاث الأخيرة بعيداً عن ملعبه.
The Qatari club Al-Duhail is looking to snatch a qualification ticket when it meets Iraqi police away from home tomorrow (Monday) at Al-Zawraa Stadium in Baghdad, as part of the eighth and final round of the Western Region competitions in the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League.
Al-Duhail is still in the race for qualification to the knockout stages, while the hopes of the police have faded after their 1-1 draw with Nasaf. However, the Iraqi team will seek to end its journey with a victory, having settled for only two draws in its previous seven matches. The weakness of the defensive system is the main reason for the police's struggles on the continental level, as they have conceded 10 goals in three home matches this season, the highest number among all teams.
On its part, Al-Duhail hopes to capitalize on these circumstances, having fought hard in the last round and managed to return with a 1-1 draw against Sharjah, keeping its chances alive in the competition.
However, the Qatari team has only achieved one victory in its last 11 away matches in the continental tournament, and has conceded at least two goals in each of its last three losses away from home.
