أعلن مانشستر يونايتد الإنجليزي تعاقده مع لاعبه السابق مايكل كاريك لتدريب الفريق الأول لكرة القدم، خلفاً للبرتغالي روبن أموريم الذي تمت إقالته بسب سوء النتائج.
مدة العقد
وقال النادي في بيان: «يسر نادي مانشستر يونايتد الإعلان عن تعيين مايكل كاريك مدرباً للفريق الأول للرجال حتى نهاية الموسم الجاري 2025-2026».
مسيرة ذهبية
وخاض كاريك 464 مباراة بقميص مانشستر يونايتد، حقق خلالها خمسة ألقاب في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، ولقب كأس الاتحاد الإنجليزي، ولقبين في كأس رابطة المحترفين، إضافة إلى دوري أبطال أوروبا، والدوري الأوروبي، وكأس العالم للأندية.
تاريخ تدريبي «متواضع»
وبعد اعتزاله كرة القدم، انضم كاريك إلى الجهاز الفني للفريق الأول عام 2018، وعمل مساعداً لكل من جوزيه مورينيو وأولي جونار سولشاير، كما تولى قيادة الفريق بشكل مؤقت عقب رحيل المدرب النرويجي.
وسبق للاعب الدولي الإنجليزي السابق تدريب فريق ميدلسبره، أحد أندية دوري الدرجة الثانية في إنجلترا، لمدة عامين ونصف، بداية من أكتوبر 2022، ورغم البداية القوية، فشل في قيادة الفريق للعودة إلى البريميرليغ، ليُقال من منصبه بنهاية الموسم الماضي.

The club stated in a statement: "Manchester United is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Carrick as the head coach of the men's first team until the end of the current season 2025-2026."
Golden Career
Carrick played 464 matches in a Manchester United shirt, during which he won five Premier League titles, one FA Cup, two EFL Cups, as well as the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, and the FIFA Club World Cup.
“Modest” Coaching History
After retiring from football, Carrick joined the first team's coaching staff in 2018, serving as an assistant to both José Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjær, and he temporarily took charge of the team following the departure of the Norwegian coach.
The former England international previously managed Middlesbrough, a team in the English Championship, for two and a half years starting from October 2022. Despite a strong start, he failed to lead the team back to the Premier League and was dismissed from his position at the end of last season.
