فاز المنتخب السعودي لقفز الحواجز بالمركز الثالث والميدالية البرونزية لمنافسات الفرق في دورة الألعاب الآسيوية الثالثة للشباب التي تستضيفها العاصمة البحرينية المنامة، بحضور نائب رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية والبارالمبية السعودية رئيس البعثة السعودية المشاركة في الدورة الأمير فهد بن جلوي بن عبدالعزيز بن مساعد.
وجاء فوز الفرسان عبدالعزيز قحل، ومشهور العثيم، وعبدالهادي القحطاني، وعبدالمجيد الخماش، بعد تصدرهم للجولتين الأولى والثانية دون أخطاء، والتي اُحتكم عقبها لجولة التمايز، حيث توجت فيها الأردن أولًا وقطر ثالثًا.
كما حقق فريق السعودية لفنون القتال المختلطة ميداليتين برونزيتين بواسطة اللاعب وسام الغامدي بعد خسارته في نصف نهائي وزن (55) كجم أمام نظيره الأوزبكي بوتيروف إبراهيم، وهشام الأعجم عقب خسارته في نصف نهائي وزن (65) كجم من الكازاخستاني كارتاي سانزار، في منافسات اليوم الثاني للمسابقة بالدورة الآسيوية، التي أقيمت في مركز البحرين العالمي للمعارض.
ويواصل عبدالإله مير عالم (75) كجم، والبراء الأعجم (70) كجم، وهيف القحطاني (65) كجم، مشاركتهم بالدورة عند الساعة الثانية من ظهر اليوم (السبت)، عقب تغلب عبدالإله على الأردني سليمان الشايب بقرار الحكام، والأعجم على الأوزبكي عبد قيدروف بالإخضاع، والقحطاني على الأوزبكي كوديروف كامرونبيك، في لقاءات دور نصف النهائي التي أقيمت أمس.
وارتفع الرصيد السعودي إلى 4 ميداليات برونزية والمركز الثاني والعشرين في جدول ترتيب الدورة.
The Saudi national team for show jumping won third place and the bronze medal in the team competitions at the third Asian Youth Games hosted by the Bahraini capital, Manama, in the presence of the Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and head of the Saudi delegation participating in the games, Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaid.
The victory of the riders Abdulaziz Qahl, Mashhour Al-Othaim, Abdulhadi Al-Qahtani, and Abdulmajid Al-Khamash came after they topped the first and second rounds without any faults, leading to a jump-off round, where Jordan took first place and Qatar third.
The Saudi mixed martial arts team also achieved two bronze medals through player Wissam Al-Ghamdi after losing in the semi-finals of the (55) kg weight category to his Uzbek counterpart Butirov Ibrahim, and Hisham Al-Ajjam after losing in the semi-finals of the (65) kg weight category to the Kazakh Kartaev Sanzar, during the second day of the competition at the Asian Games, which took place at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.
Abdulilah Mir Alam (75 kg), Al-Baraa Al-Ajjam (70 kg), and Haif Al-Qahtani (65 kg) will continue their participation in the games at 2 PM today (Saturday), after Abdulilah defeated the Jordanian Suleiman Al-Shayeb by referee decision, Al-Ajjam defeated the Uzbek Abd Qidurov by submission, and Al-Qahtani defeated the Uzbek Kudirov Kamronbek, in the semi-final matches that took place yesterday.
The Saudi medal tally has risen to 4 bronze medals, placing them in twenty-second position in the overall standings of the games.
