The Board of Trustees of the Asian Dream Foundation, affiliated with the Asian Football Confederation, reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting its pioneering programs in the field of social responsibility during the fourth board meeting held on Thursday in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
The meeting was chaired by Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, who praised the significant impact of the Asian Dream Foundation 2025 Conference held on Wednesday in collaboration with the United Nations program "Football for Goals," considering it a landmark event that could pave the way for establishing an annual platform to bring together leaders in football and social development in Asia.
The Board of Trustees noted that the conference, which hosted a selection of distinguished speakers and participants, played a pivotal role in raising awareness of the role of football in social development, encouraging the exchange of best practices, and reinforcing the spirit of cooperation among member associations of the Asian Football Confederation, regional federations, the United Nations, and other relevant partners.
Board members agreed that the discussions held at the conference would contribute to enhancing the Asian Football Confederation's capacity to implement broader long-term plans, in line with leading standards in this field, such as the goals adopted by the United Nations for sustainable development.
Decisions approved by the Asian Football Confederation's Social Responsibility Committee earlier in the week were also adopted, which included the distribution of 5,000 footballs to relevant member associations, the implementation of the South Asian Football Federation's "Play During Menstruation" program, as well as expanding strategic cooperation with international organizations, bodies, and non-governmental organizations.
Before concluding the meeting, the board was briefed on the administrative updates related to the Asian Football Confederation, reviews of its programs, and completed and ongoing social initiatives. They also welcomed the federation's contributions to the United Nations Forum "Football for Goals 2025," the competition protection seminar organized by the South Asian Football Federation, and the child protection seminar held by the Central Asian Football Federation.
It is noted that the decisions require ratification by the Executive Office of the Asian Football Confederation to be adopted before coming into effect.
During the meeting, members received an update on the continuous increase in the number of national and regional federations officially joining the "Football for Goals" program, as well as the number of participants who completed the Asian Football Confederation's child protection certification courses, in addition to the growing number of child protection officials within the system.
