تعرض الاتحاد للخسارة من ضيفه شباب الأهلي الإماراتي بهدف دون مقابل، في اللقاء الذي أقيم مساء اليوم (الثلاثاء) على استاد «الإنماء» بمدينة الملك عبدالله الرياضية في جدة، ضمن الجولة الثانية من منافسات دوري أبطال آسيا للنخبة.
وسجل سعيد عزت الله هدف الفوز الثمين لصالح شباب الأهلي في الدقيقة 40 من عمر اللقاء.
شهد اللقاء تبادل الفريقين السيطرة على مجريات اللعب، وكانت المبادرة الأولى لصالح شباب الأهلي عبر فيدريكو كارتابيا الذي سدد كرة من خارج منطقة الجزاء لكنها جاءت خارج الخشبات الثلاث، ثم سدد محمد دومبيا لاعب الاتحاد كرة قوية من خارج منطقة الجزاء مرت فوق العارضة، في حين تعامل رايكوفيتش حارس الاتحاد بنجاح مع التسديدة القوية التي أرسلها يوري سيزار لاعب شباب الأهلي من ضربة حرة مباشرة، ونجح شباب الأهلي في تسجيل هدف السبق الأول حينما انبرى فريدريكو كارتابيا لتنفيذ ركلة ركنية وعكس كرة متقنة على رأس سعيد عزت الله الذي حولها إلى داخل الشباك (د:40).
وبحث الاتحاد عن التعديل في مطلع الشوط الثاني عبر العديد من المحاولات الهجومية أبرزها رأسية لويس بيريرا التي جاءت من داخل منطقة الجزاء ومرت خارج الخشبات الثلاث، ومن ثم استطاع البديل روجر فيرنانديز هز شباك شباب الأهلي لكن راية التسلل كانت حاضرة لتحرمه من أول أهدافه مع الاتحاد، وبعد 5 دقائق وقتاً بدل ضائع أعلن الحكم الأردني أدهم المخادمة نهاية اللقاء بفوز شباب الأهلي بهدف دون مقابل.

The Union suffered a loss to its guest, Al Ahli Youth from the UAE, with a score of one goal to none, in the match that took place this evening (Tuesday) at the "Al-Inma" Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, as part of the second round of the AFC Champions League for elite teams.
Saeed Izzat Allah scored the precious winning goal for Al Ahli Youth in the 40th minute of the match.
The match witnessed a back-and-forth control of the game between the two teams, with the first initiative going to Al Ahli Youth through Federico Cartabia, who shot from outside the penalty area, but it went wide of the three posts. Then, Mohammed Dombia, a player for the Union, took a powerful shot from outside the penalty area that went over the crossbar, while Union's goalkeeper Raikovic successfully dealt with the strong shot sent by Yuri Cesar, a player for Al Ahli Youth, from a direct free kick. Al Ahli Youth succeeded in scoring the first goal when Federico Cartabia took a corner kick and delivered a precise ball to Saeed Izzat Allah, who headed it into the net (40').
The Union sought to equalize at the beginning of the second half through several attacking attempts, the most notable being a header from Luis Pereira that came from inside the penalty area and went wide of the three posts. Then, substitute Roger Fernandez managed to find the net for Al Ahli Youth, but the offside flag was raised to deny him his first goal with the Union. After 5 minutes of stoppage time, Jordanian referee Adham Al-Makhamra announced the end of the match with Al Ahli Youth winning by one goal to none.
