حسم منتخب قطر للناشئين صدارة المجموعة الأولى في بطولة كأس الخليج تحت 17 سنة بعدما تفوق على نظيره الإماراتي بهدفين دون مقابل، في اللقاء الذي جمعهما على استاد حمد الكبير بالنادي العربي، ورفع المنتخب القطري رصيده إلى تسع نقاط محققاً العلامة الكاملة، فيما حلّ المنتخب الإماراتي ثانياً بست نقاط، ليتأهل المنتخبان معاً إلى الدور نصف النهائي.
وبهذا الترتيب، يلتقي منتخب قطر مع وصيف المجموعة الثانية المنتخب السعودي يوم 30 سبتمبر الجاري، بينما يواجه المنتخب الإماراتي متصدر المجموعة الثانية المنتخب العراقي، على أن يتأهل الفائزان من المباراتين إلى النهائي المقرر في 3 أكتوبر القادم.
وجاء تفوق العنابي أداءً ونتيجة، إذ نجح في تسجيل هدف مبكر عند الدقيقة الثالثة عبر اللاعب مهند جميل، ما منحه دفعة قوية للسيطرة على مجريات اللقاء. وواصل العنابي ضغطه حتى أضاف الهدف الثاني في الدقيقة 28 بواسطة زيد فيصل، لترجح كفة المنتخب القطري في شوط أول مثالي.
وفي المباراة الأخرى ضمن المجموعة نفسها، قلب المنتخب العُماني تأخره بهدف أمام نظيره اليمني إلى فوز ثمين بهدفين لهدف، ليحقق انتصاره الوحيد في البطولة ويكتفي بالمركز الثالث، فيما ودّع المنتخب اليمني المنافسات خالي الوفاض.

The Qatari team raised its points tally to nine, achieving a perfect score, while the Emirati team finished second with six points, allowing both teams to advance to the semi-finals.
In this arrangement, the Qatari team will face the runner-up of Group B, the Saudi team, on September 30, while the Emirati team will meet the leader of Group B, the Iraqi team. The winners of both matches will qualify for the final scheduled for October 3.
The Qatari team excelled both in performance and result, successfully scoring an early goal in the third minute through player Mohannad Jameel, which gave them a strong boost to control the match's proceedings. The Qatari team continued to apply pressure and added a second goal in the 28th minute by Zaid Faisal, tipping the scales in favor of the Qatari team in an ideal first half.
