تأهل المنتخب اليمني للشباب تحت 20 عاماً إلى نهائي بطولة كأس الخليج لكرة القدم، بعد فوزه المستحق على حساب نظيره العُماني بنتيجة (2-0) في المباراة التي جمعت بينهما مساء اليوم (الأحد) على استاد مدينة الأمير سلطان بن عبدالعزيز الرياضية بمدينة أبها، ضمن دور نصف النهائي من البطولة.
وسجل محمد الرواني الهدف الأول لليمن في الدقيقة 45 بعد مجهود فردي رائع أنهاه بتسديدة قوية في الشباك، قبل أن يضيف زيد الجراش الهدف الثاني في الدقيقة 90+9 ليحسم بطاقة العبور إلى المباراة النهائية.
وشهد اللقاء أحداثاً مثيرة أبرزها طرد لاعب المنتخب العُماني محمد المشايخي في الدقيقة 19 بقرار من الحكم القطري محمد الشريف، ليكمل الفريق المباراة بعشرة لاعبين. كما أهدر منتخب عمان فرصة ثمينة للعودة بعدما ضيّع أحمد العمراني ركلة جزاء في الدقيقة 45+11، فيما كان المنتخب اليمني قد أهدر بدوره ركلة جزاء عبر عادل عباس في الدقيقة 26.
ورغم النقص العددي، قدّم المنتخب العُماني أداءً شجاعاً، وكثف محاولاته الهجومية حتى الدقائق الأخيرة، بما في ذلك مطالبة باحتساب ركلة جزاء في اللحظات الحاسمة، غير أن المنتخب اليمني تمكن من الحفاظ على تقدمه حتى صافرة النهاية.
وشهد اللقاء بعد انتهائه أحداثاً مؤسفة من مدرب عمان منصور الجابري الذي حاول الاعتداء على حكم اللقاء القطري محمد الشريف.
وبهذا الفوز، يضرب منتخب اليمن موعداً مع المنتخب السعودي في المباراة النهائية للبطولة، في مواجهة مرتقبة بين صاحب الأرض و«الأحمر» الطامح لتحقيق اللقب الخليجي للشباب.

The Yemeni U-20 national team has qualified for the final of the Gulf Cup of Football after a deserved victory over their Omani counterpart with a score of (2-0) in the match held this evening (Sunday) at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Abha, as part of the semi-finals of the tournament.
Mohammed Al-Rawani scored the first goal for Yemen in the 45th minute after a brilliant individual effort that he finished with a powerful shot into the net, before Zaid Al-Jarash added the second goal in the 90+9 minute to secure a place in the final match.
The match witnessed exciting events, most notably the red card shown to Omani player Mohammed Al-Mushaykhi in the 19th minute by Qatari referee Mohammed Al-Sharif, forcing the team to continue the match with ten players. Oman also missed a precious opportunity to come back when Ahmed Al-Amrani squandered a penalty in the 45+11 minute, while the Yemeni team had also missed a penalty through Adel Abbas in the 26th minute.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, the Omani team displayed a brave performance, intensifying their attacking attempts until the final minutes, including a call for a penalty in the crucial moments, but the Yemeni team managed to maintain their lead until the final whistle.
After the match ended, unfortunate events occurred involving Oman's coach Mansour Al-Jabri, who attempted to assault the Qatari referee Mohammed Al-Sharif.
With this victory, Yemen's team sets a date with the Saudi team in the final match of the tournament, in an anticipated clash between the host and the "Red" team aspiring to achieve the Gulf youth title.
