فجّر نجم ليفربول الإنجليزي اللاعب المصري محمد صلاح مفاجأة كبيرة، مؤكداً أن مفاوضاته مع مسؤولي الدوري السعودي للمحترفين كانت جادة قبل تمديد عقده مع بطل الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز لموسمين قادمين.
وقال صلاح: «كنت قريباً من الانتقال لأحد الأندية في الدوري السعودي حال عدم تجديد عقدي مع ليفربول، ولكن تمت الأمور مع «الريدز» في النهاية، وتربطني علاقات جيدة مع الدوري السعودي»، مشيراً إلى أن ريال مدريد وبرشلونة لم يكونا في الصورة للانتقال لأحدهما.
وأضاف صلاح خلال تصريحات على قناة «أون سبورت»، على هامش فوزه بجائزة رابطة كتاب كرة القدم الإنجليزية لأفضل لاعب في العام للمرة الثالثة في مسيرته مع ليفربول: «سعادتي أكبر هذه المرة، بسبب الفوز بالدوري ومشاركتي الكبيرة في فوز الفريق باللقب».
وأكد النجم المصري أنه قادر على الاستمرار في الملاعب لسنّ الـ40.
The Liverpool star, Egyptian player Mohamed Salah, made a big surprise, confirming that his negotiations with officials from the Saudi Professional League were serious before he extended his contract with the Premier League champions for two more seasons.
Salah said: "I was close to moving to one of the clubs in the Saudi League if my contract with Liverpool was not renewed, but things worked out with the 'Reds' in the end, and I have good relations with the Saudi League," pointing out that Real Madrid and Barcelona were not in the picture for a potential transfer to either of them.
He added during statements on "On Sport" channel, on the sidelines of winning the Football Writers' Association English Player of the Year award for the third time in his career with Liverpool: "My happiness is greater this time, due to winning the league and my significant contribution to the team's victory in the title."
The Egyptian star confirmed that he is capable of continuing on the pitch until the age of 40.
