أعلن نادي مانشستر سيتي الإنجليزي عن تكريم استثنائي لمدرب الفريق بيب غوارديولا، بعدما قرر مغادرة الفريق عقب نهاية الموسم الحالي.
وكان مانشستر سيتي قد أعلن اليوم (الجمعة) أن مباراة أستون فيلا المقررة يوم الأحد القادم ستكون الأخيرة لغوارديولا مع النادي، بعد 10 سنوات قاد خلالها الفريق لتحقيق 20 لقباً.
مدرج وتمثال لـ«غوارديولا»
وقال النادي في بيان عبر موقعه الإلكتروني: «يسر نادي مانشستر سيتي أن يعلن أن المدرج الشمالي الذي تم تطويره وتوسيعه حديثاً في ملعب الاتحاد سيُطلق عليه اسم مدرج بيب غوارديولا».
وأضاف: «من المناسب أن يتم فتح المدرج بالكامل لأول مرة في المباراة الأخيرة للمدرب على رأس الجهاز الفني للفريق، وهي المباراة الختامية للموسم ضد أستون فيلا يوم الأحد».
وتابع البيان: «وكجزء من عملية إعادة التسمية، سيتم أيضاً تكليف فنان بصنع تمثال لبيب غوارديولا، وسيتم عرضه في الطريق المؤدي إلى مدرج بيب غوارديولا».
Manchester City Football Club has announced an exceptional tribute to the team's coach, Pep Guardiola, following his decision to leave the team at the end of the current season.
Manchester City announced today (Friday) that the match against Aston Villa scheduled for this coming Sunday will be Guardiola's last with the club, after 10 years during which he led the team to achieve 20 titles.
Stand and statue for "Guardiola"
The club stated in a statement on its website: "Manchester City is pleased to announce that the newly developed and expanded North Stand at the Etihad Stadium will be named the Pep Guardiola Stand."
It added: "It is fitting that the stand will be fully opened for the first time in the coach's final match at the helm of the team, which is the season-ending match against Aston Villa on Sunday."
The statement continued: "As part of the renaming process, an artist will also be commissioned to create a statue of Pep Guardiola, which will be displayed on the path leading to the Pep Guardiola Stand."
