أعلن مدافع إشبيلية الحالي وقائد تشيلسي السابق سيزار أزبيليكويتا اعتزاله كرة القدم نهائياً، بعد مسيرة حافلة بالإنجازات.
وكتب أزبيليكويتا عبر حسابه على منصة «إكس»: «اليوم أود أن أشارككم خبر أن هذا الموسم سيكون الأخير لي كلاعب كرة قدم محترف، بعد سنوات طويلة من تحقيق حلمي، أشعر أن الوقت قد حان لبدء فصل جديد في حياتي».
صعوبة قرار الاعتزال
وأضاف: «بصراحة، رغم أنني كنت أستعد لهذه اللحظة، إلا أنني وجدت صعوبة في كتابة هذه الرسالة، بعد عشرين موسماً، لعب الكثيرون دوراً مهماً في مسيرتي».
مسيرة حافلة
وتابع اللاعب الإسباني صاحب الـ36 عاماً: «عندما ركلت الكرة لأول مرة في طفولتي مع زملائي في المدرسة، لم أتخيل أبداً الرحلة الرائعة التي تنتظرني، أنا ممتن لكل لحظة: الانتصارات، والهزائم الصعبة، والتحديات، والأهم من ذلك كله الأشخاص الذين التقيت بهم والصداقات التي كونتها على طول الطريق».
وختم رسالته قائلاً: «إلى زملائي في الفريق، والمدربين، وكل فرد من أفراد الطاقم في جميع الأندية التي حالفني الحظ بالانضمام إليها، شكراً لكم على مساعدتي في النمو كشخص ولاعب كل يوم، ارتداء قمصان أندية أوساسونا، أولمبيك مارسيليا، تشيلسي، أتلتيكو مدريد، وإشبيلية، وتمثيل بلادي في أكبر المحافل الرياضية، كان شرفاً عظيماً، كل لحظة كانت تعني لي الكثير».
Current Sevilla defender and former Chelsea captain César Azpilicueta has announced his retirement from professional football, after a career filled with achievements.
Azpilicueta wrote on his account on the platform "X": "Today I would like to share with you the news that this season will be my last as a professional football player. After many years of fulfilling my dream, I feel that the time has come to start a new chapter in my life."
The difficulty of the retirement decision
He added: "Honestly, even though I was preparing for this moment, I found it difficult to write this message. After twenty seasons, many people played an important role in my career."
A remarkable career
The 36-year-old Spanish player continued: "When I kicked the ball for the first time in my childhood with my schoolmates, I never imagined the wonderful journey that awaited me. I am grateful for every moment: the victories, the tough defeats, the challenges, and most importantly, the people I met and the friendships I made along the way."
He concluded his message by saying: "To my teammates, coaches, and every member of the staff at all the clubs I was fortunate to join, thank you for helping me grow as a person and a player every day. Wearing the shirts of Osasuna, Olympique Marseille, Chelsea, Atlético Madrid, and Sevilla, and representing my country in the biggest sporting events has been a great honor; every moment meant so much to me."
