تأهل منتخب الرأس الأخضر من القارة الأفريقية إلى نهائيات كأس العالم 2026 للمرة الأولى في تاريخه، بعد فوزه على إسواتيني بثلاثة أهداف دون مقابل، في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما اليوم (الإثنين) في مدينة برايا ضمن لقاءات الجولة العاشرة (الأخيرة) من منافسات المجموعة الرابعة من التصفيات الأفريقية المؤهلة إلى مونديال 2026، ليُنهي التصفيات متصدراً المجموعة بفارق أربع نقاط عن الكاميرون التي تعادلت مع أنغولا.
وشهد اللقاء بداية قوية من الرأس الأخضر وسط تحفظ دفاعي لمنتخب إسواتيني ومع بداية الشوط الثاني تمكن منتخب الأرخبيل من افتتاح مسلسل الأهداف عن طريق لاعبه دايلون ليفرامينتو بتسديدة قوية من داخل المنطقة اثر ركنية رفعها سيميدو (د:48)، وعزز ويلي سيميدو النتيجة سريعاً برأسية أسكنها الشباك إثر عرضية من ديني بورغيس (د:55)، قبل أن يختتم البديل ستوبيرا المهرجان بإضافة الثالث من تسديدة قوية (د:90+1)، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز الرأس الأخضر بثلاثة أهداف دون مقابل.
وبذلك ينضم منتخب الرأس الأخضر للمنتخبات المتأهلة إلى كأس العالم 2026 وهي؛ أمريكا، كندا، المكسيك (الدول المستضيفة)، ومن قارة أوقيانوسيا منتخب نيوزيلندا، ومن قارة آسيا 6 منتخبات إلى الآن وهي اليابان، إيران، الأردن، كوريا الجنوبية، أوزبكستان، أستراليا، ومن قارة أمريكا الجنوبية 6 منتخبات وهي الأرجنتين، البرازيل، الإكوادور، كولومبيا، أوروغواي، باراغواي، ومن قارة أفريقيا 6 منتخبات إلى الآن وهي المغرب، تونس، مصر، الجزائر، غانا، جزر القمر.

The Cape Verde national team has qualified from the African continent for the 2026 World Cup finals for the first time in its history, after defeating Eswatini by three goals to none in the match held today (Monday) in Praia as part of the tenth (and final) round of the fourth group of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. They finished the qualifiers at the top of the group, four points ahead of Cameroon, which drew with Angola.
The match witnessed a strong start from Cape Verde amid a defensive caution from the Eswatini team. At the beginning of the second half, the island nation managed to open the scoring through their player Daylon Laveramento with a powerful shot from inside the area following a corner taken by Semedo (48'). Willy Semedo quickly doubled the score with a header that found the net from a cross by Dini Borges (55'), before substitute Stopira capped off the scoring with a third goal from a powerful shot (90+1'), ending the match with Cape Verde winning three goals to none.
