انتصر منتخب كولومبيا على جنوب أفريقيا بثلاثة أهداف لهدف، في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما على ملعب تالكا ضمن لقاءات دور الـ16 من كأس العالم تحت 20 سنة المقامة حالياً في تشيلي، وبذلك يتأهل منتخب كولومبيا لدور الثمانية فيما ودع منتخب جنوب أفريقيا منافسات البطولة.
أحرز أهداف كولومبيا جويل كانشيمبو (د:7) ونيصر فياريال (هدفين د: 63، 90+6)، فيما جاء هدف جنوب أفريقيا الوحيد عن طريق مفوندو فيلاكازي من ركلة جزاء (د:49).
افتتح جويل كانشيمبو التسجيل للمنتخب الكولومبي مبكراً بعد تمريرة عرضية متقنة من أوسكار بيريا، فيما تمكن منتخب جنوب أفريقيا من إدراك التعادل من ركلة جزاء نفذها مفوندو فيلاكازي بعد إعادة تنفيذها، واستعاد نيصر فياريال تقدم كولومبيا بهدف رائع بالقدم اليمنى بعد تمريرة من بيريا، ثم عاد اللاعب نفسه ليُضيف الهدف الثالث في الدقيقة 90+6، ليحسم المباراة ولينتهي اللقاء بفوز كولومبيا بثلاثة أهداف لهدف.
وبهذه النتيجة، تأهل المنتخب الكولومبي لدور الثمانية للمرة الأولى منذ استضافته البطولة في 2011، وسيلاقي نظيره المنتخب الإسباني في ربع النهائي السبت القادم.
