حجز منتخب إسبانيا مقعده في ربع نهائي كأس العالم تحت 20 سنة FIFA تشيلي 2025، بعد فوزه على نظيره الأوكراني بهدف دون رد، في المباراة التي جمعتهما على ملعب إلياس فيغيروا براندر بمدينة فالبارايسو.
سجل بابلو غارسيا هدف اللقاء الوحيد في الدقيقة 24، مواصلاً تألقه في البطولة ومؤكداً مكانته كأحد أبرز نجومها.
وجاء الهدف بعد ركنية قصيرة بينه وبين يان فيرجيلي، ليتوغل غارسيا داخل منطقة الجزاء ويتلقى تمريرة من رودريغو ميندوزا، قبل أن يرفع الكرة بلمسة أنيقة فوق الحارس الأوكراني فلاديسلاف كرابيبستوف.
وكاد ماتفي بونومارينكو يعيد أوكرانيا إلى المباراة قبل نهاية الشوط الأول، غير أن رأسيته مرت بجانب القائم.
وفي الشوط الثاني، استحوذ الأوكرانيون على الكرة دون فعالية هجومية تُذكر، فيما كانت أخطر محاولاتهم عبر ياروسلاف كارامان الذي علت تسديدته العارضة بقليل، وكاد المنتخب الإسباني يضاعف النتيجة في الوقت بدل الضائع إلا أن خروج الحارس الأوكراني فلاديسلاف من مكانه في الوقت المناسب حال دون ذلك، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز إسبانيا بهدف دون مقابل، ووضعت هذه الخسارة حداً لسلسلة أوكرانيا الخالية من الهزائم التي دامت 14 مباراة في النهائيات، وهي رابع أطول سلسلة في تاريخ البطولة.
وسيلتقي المنتخب الإسباني في الدور القادم مع الفائز من مواجهة كولومبيا وجنوب أفريقيا، المقررة في مدينة تالكا عند تمام الـ10:30 من مساء اليوم (الأربعاء).

The Spanish national team secured its place in the quarter-finals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025, after defeating their Ukrainian counterparts with a score of one goal to nil, in the match held at the Elías Figueroa Brander Stadium in Valparaíso.
Pablo García scored the only goal of the match in the 24th minute, continuing his impressive performance in the tournament and confirming his status as one of its standout stars.
The goal came after a short corner between him and Jan Vergili, allowing García to penetrate the penalty area and receive a pass from Rodrigo Mendoza, before elegantly lifting the ball over the Ukrainian goalkeeper Vladyslav Krabipestov.
Matviy Bonamarenko nearly brought Ukraine back into the match before the end of the first half, but his header went just wide of the post.
In the second half, the Ukrainians dominated possession without any notable attacking effectiveness, with their most dangerous attempts coming from Yaroslav Karaman, whose shot just grazed the crossbar. The Spanish team nearly doubled their lead in stoppage time, but the timely exit of Ukrainian goalkeeper Vladyslav from his position prevented that, ending the match with Spain winning by one goal to nil. This loss ended Ukraine's unbeaten streak of 14 matches in the finals, which is the fourth longest streak in the tournament's history.
