تتأهب منتخبات الولايات المتحدة وفرنسا وجنوب أفريقيا للانضمام لقافلة المتأهلين لدور الـ16 لكأس العالم تحت 20 عاماً عندما تخوض لقاءات الجولة الثالثة من المجموعة الخامسة بمونديال تشيلي.
في المواجهة الأولى يلتقي منتخب الولايات المتحدة بنظيره جنوب أفريقيا، وقد ساهم الفوز الكبير الذي حققه منتخب جنوب أفريقيا في الجولة الماضية على حساب منتخب كاليدونيا الجديدة (4/ 0) في زيادة حظوظه في التأهل للدور الثاني شريطة الا يخسر بفارق كبير من الأهداف أمام المتصدر الولايات المتحدة الذي ضمن التأهل بعد أن حقق فوزين متتالين، ويتأهل جنوب أفريقيا مباشرةً في حالة فوزه، أما تعادله وفوز فرنسا فسيؤهله كأفضل ثالث، والحالة الوحيدة التي سيغادر فيها المونديال هي خسارته بنتيجة كبيرة. أما منتخب الولايات المتحدة فقد ضمن التأهل، وإذا ما أراد أن يتأهل كمتصدر للمجموعة فعليه الخروج بالتعادل على أقل تقدير.
وفي اللقاء الآخر، يخوض منتخب فرنسا لقاءً سهلاً أمام الحلقة الأضعف في المجموعة منتخب كاليدونيا الجديدة الذي خسر من الولايات المتحدة (1/ 9)، ومن جنوب أفريقيا (0/ 4)، وإذا ما أراد منتخب فرنسا التأهل فعليه الفوز بأكبر قدر من الأهداف لكسر فارق الأهداف بينه وبين منافسيه على بطاقتي التأهل.

The teams of the United States, France, and South Africa are preparing to join the ranks of those qualified for the Round of 16 of the Under-20 World Cup as they play their third round matches in Group E of the Chile World Cup.
In the first match, the United States team faces off against South Africa. The significant victory achieved by the South African team in the last round against New Caledonia (4-0) has increased its chances of qualifying for the next round, provided it does not lose by a large margin against the leaders, the United States, who have already secured qualification after winning two consecutive matches. South Africa will qualify directly if it wins; however, if it draws and France wins, it will qualify as the best third-placed team. The only scenario in which it would exit the tournament is if it loses by a large score. As for the United States team, it has secured qualification, and if it wants to qualify as the group leader, it must at least draw.
In the other match, the French team faces an easy game against the weakest link in the group, New Caledonia, which lost to the United States (1-9) and to South Africa (0-4). If France wants to qualify, it must win by as many goals as possible to improve its goal difference compared to its competitors for the two qualification spots.
