حقق منتخب المغرب أول انتصار عربي في منافسات كأس العالم تحت 20 سنة والمقامة حالياً في دولة تشيلي بعد الفوز على إسبانيا بهدفين دون مقابل وذلك في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما على استاد سانتياغو في افتتاح لقاءات المجموعة الثالثة والتي شهدت أيضاً تعادل البرازيل مع المكسيك بهدفين لكل منهما.
بعد غياب استمر عقدين، دشن المنتخب المغربي عودته إلى نهائيات كأس العالم تحت 20 سنة، بانتصارٍ مستحق على إسبانيا في سانتياغو وأحرز هدفي المغرب كل من: ياسر الزابيري (د: 54)، وياسين جاسم (د: 58).
وكان الشوط الأول مليئًا بالإثارة، حيث ضيّع ياسر الزابيري فرصة محققة في بداية اللقاء، قبل أن يتدخل فؤاد زهواني ليُنقذ مرمى «أشبال الأطلس» بإبعاد كرة خطيرة من على خط المرمى إثر محاولة من ريان بلعيد.
واستطاع الزابيري أن يعوّض الفرصة المهدرة بتسجيله الهدف الأول في الدقيقة 54 بعدما اخترق الدفاع الإسباني ووضع الكرة بهدوء في شباك الحارس فران غونزاليس، وبعد أربع دقائق فقط، عزز ياسين جاسم النتيجة بتسديدة من مسافة قريبة إثر تمريرة عرضية من عثمان معما. وفي الدقائق الأخيرة، سجلت إسبانيا هدف تقليص الفارق، ولكن تم إلغاؤه بداعي وجود مخالفة تسلل.
ويعد هذا هو أول فوز للمنتخب المغربي بالوقت الأصلي في نهائيات كأس العالم تحت 20 سنة، منذ 7404 يومًا، حين تفوّق على اليابان 1-0 في دور الـ16 بهولندا عام 2005.
وعلى الملعب ذاته، تمكن منتخب المكسيك من اقتناص تعادل ثمين في اللحظات الأخيرة أمام البرازيل، حيث انتهت المباراة بين الفريقين بالتعادل 2-2 ضمن منافسات المجموعة الثالثة.
افتتحت المكسيك التسجيل بعد عشر دقائق من البداية، عندما ارتدت كرة رأسية من تاهييل خيمينيز لتصل إلى أليكسي دومينغيز الذي حولها بسهولة إلى الشباك. وردت البرازيل سريعًا عبر رافائيل كوتينيو في الدقيقة 21.
وفي الدقيقة 76، بدا أن البرازيل حسمت المباراة بعد هدف لويغي، لكن المكسيك رفضت الاستسلام، وأدركت التعادل في الوقت القاتل برأسية رائعة من المدافع دييغو أوتشوا، لتنتهي المباراة بالتعادل 2-2.
وبهذه النتيجتين، يتصدر المغرب منتخبات المجموعة برصيد 3 نقاط يليه منتخبا البرازيل والمكسيك برصيد نقطة لكل منهما، فيما يحتل إسبانيا المركز الرابع والأخير بدون نقاط.

The Moroccan national team achieved the first Arab victory in the FIFA U-20 World Cup currently held in Chile, winning against Spain with two goals to nil in the match that took place at the Santiago Stadium during the opening of Group C, which also saw Brazil draw with Mexico 2-2.
After a two-decade absence, the Moroccan team marked its return to the U-20 World Cup finals with a well-deserved victory over Spain in Santiago, with both goals scored by: Yasser Zbeiri (54th minute) and Yassine Jassim (58th minute).
The first half was full of excitement, as Yasser Zbeiri missed a clear opportunity at the beginning of the match, before Fouad Zahwani intervened to save the "Atlas Cubs" goal by clearing a dangerous ball off the goal line following an attempt from Rayan Belaid.
Zbeiri was able to make up for the missed opportunity by scoring the first goal in the 54th minute after penetrating the Spanish defense and calmly placing the ball into the net past goalkeeper Fran Gonzalez. Just four minutes later, Yassine Jassim doubled the score with a shot from close range following a cross from Othman Maima. In the final minutes, Spain scored a goal to reduce the deficit, but it was disallowed for offside.
This is the first win for the Moroccan team in regular time at the U-20 World Cup finals in 7,404 days, since they defeated Japan 1-0 in the Round of 16 in the Netherlands in 2005.
At the same venue, the Mexican team managed to snatch a valuable draw in the dying moments against Brazil, as the match between the two teams ended in a 2-2 draw in Group C.
Mexico opened the scoring ten minutes into the match when a header from Tahiel Jimenez rebounded to Alexi Dominguez, who easily converted it into the net. Brazil quickly responded through Rafael Coutinho in the 21st minute.
In the 76th minute, it seemed that Brazil had secured the match after a goal from Luigy, but Mexico refused to give up and equalized in the dying moments with a brilliant header from defender Diego Ochoa, ending the match in a 2-2 draw.
With these results, Morocco leads the group with 3 points, followed by Brazil and Mexico with 1 point each, while Spain occupies the fourth and last place with no points.
